  • what if i dont have lemon juice? can it work without...

  • @AmatuALLAH92: if you get some on a spoon and let it cool a little before testing it on some arm hair? just spread it over it and pull, it should come off like normal wax.

  • i used brown sugar too but mine turned hard as soon as it cooled so i had to throw it all away :(

  • what if you don't have a thermometer?

  • You suck at recording !

  • i do not have a thermometer ! :(

how can i know that i is ready ! ?

  • @AmatuALLAH92 Cold water method (: Take some in a spoon & dip it in cold water. If you can form the wax into a ball, it's ready.

  • can we use white sugar ? or does it have to be brown, cause i know theyre verry diff

  • I have tried this like 4 times and it didn't turn out well at all. i used the specified quantities and cooked while stirring on med once it started boiling and lowered the heat and kept stirring until it turned golden brown not burnt i removed it from the stove and poured it into a glass bowl to cool. upon cooling i applied it but it won't stick to my skin and it's not pulling off hair as much. help what am i doing wrong. Thanks

  • BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN USING THE ELECTRIC STOVE DIRECTIONS, JUST IGNORE THE TIMES COMPLETELY FOR THE GAS BURNER DIRECTION IF U DON'T HAVE ONE. I read through them both and was confused about the times and ended up burning the wax :-( ugh. I'm the type to walk away from the stove when cooking .DON'T DO THAT WITH THIS AT ALL!!! BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN. I will try again hopefully better luck.

  • @g00566498 I tried it too and it doesn't work at ALL

  • i remember the frst time i made it, was burned,

  • so i failed miserably):

it flowed onto my stove and i am currently waiting for it to harden so i can scrape it off):

  • shit i burned it!!

  • @lakshmee2811 tried it twice burned both times.. try threading.

  • can you do it without the lemon?

  • i dont have ingredients to do this

  • Can you use this on your eyebrows?

  • @KellySeelall

Ya I just use 2 tablespoons of b.sugar 1 tablespoon of honey and no water because it gets too watery. Pop it into the microwave for like 25-30 secs and put it in the freezer for like 2-3 minutes to cool down a tad. Hopefully it works! :]

  • Can I substitute lemon with lime to make the paste?

  • how long do you let it cool for? mine just hardened up and broke into pieces. how can you reheat it after it gets hard?

  • .... yumm that looks pretty tastey lol.. might be yummy candy :)

  • how do you apply it? what do u apply it with? what tools do u need.. i mean do u apply it by your self or ..

  • @wondergirlsy

I use popsicle sticks or maybe the back of a spoon :]

  • hey....I tried the same thing but it turned like a stone..!! I have electric stove and how to measure 225 degrees.....?did I over cooked,,

  • I came short on the lemon juice part, but i followed the instructions. It keeps getting hard and brittle. Please Help!!!

  • awesome vid... do you have to mix it??

  • try to mixx it with lemon it give a good look to skin

  • my wax is to watery, how can I make it more thicker? thanx

  • @Melkputje

Add less water and let it cool longer, also try to add less lemon juice. :] Hopefully it helps!

  • do you really have to measure the temperature?

  • Comment removed

  • donde estan los ingredientes....

  • wwhat's this for ?

  • FOR DEPILATION

  • whats that >!? lol...

  • wow, you are burning the sugar! it is usually a 6 min recipe at the most! i would know because we have been using this technique for over 30 years.

  • lol It's brown sugar. That's why it's so dark. If I burned it (which I have before) it would turn hard, brittle, and unusable. This one worked quite well for me

  • Oh and I forgot to meant that I am cooking this on a gas stove. On a electric stove the cooking time is greatly reduced to 5-8 minutes

  • you mean a quarter not 1 fourth

  • That is the same thing, duh

  • uff =/ It's really complicated, maybe because my english is very bad, but also because everything gone too fast x_x

But it's great that you've done that video. I'll try that out C:

  • uhhh idk what this is or what its for but dose it taste good? and no im not fat

  • which is better to use brown sugar or normal?

  • It depends on the person. I've heard that white sugar works best and it was better in my opinion

  • @saradogg95 white sugar does NOT work ..i reccomend brown sugar..and if you have it LIGHT brown sugar..white sugar gets really hard, and it is unusable

  • I usually use honey in my mix because using just sugar, from my experience, tends to want to recrystallize too quickly.

  • Can't I just microwave it or oven it?

  • Oh ok so I can use regular lemons!!!

  • I believe so

  • Hey can I use regular lemon or does it have to be a bottle of lemon juice!!!

  • I'm pretty sure you can use regular lemons if you get all the seeds and big pulp out

  • what do you mean by lemon juice, should I buy lemon? can i use ponkan?

  • I had to look that one up but it says it's a type of tangerine. That's citrus so it should work. I can't guarantee it will work though, I've sure never tried it!

  • I bought a lemon lime juice, it's really juice though. It's in a bottle. and it means that 1/4 cup lemon is just a little amount right?

  • The lemon juice I use comes in a bottle too. As long as it's pure it will work. 1/4 cup isn't that much about 50 mL

  • how many grams is one cup? just to be sure of the amount .

  • Granulated sugar: 1 cup = 200 grams

    Water: 1 cup = 236 gram

I'm not sure on the lemon juice I couldn't find it on google

  • so i'm still afraid of trying it since i might fail =(

and yeah, i'm still confused with how will i get the hairs out. They said that I need to use a muslin thingy, but i don't know where to get those. should i really use that?

  • @kyle1311lol a muslin is a strip of fabric. (I use old bed sheets. cotton works best)

  • Does it matter if you use reconstituted lemon juice??

  • I don't think it will make a difference

  • hey, I just wonder wax can use on sensitive areas?

  • You sure can

  • Why would you want to use brown sugar? Isn't it more expensive?

  • Yep it is and I personally don''t like the wax. But my friend only had brown sugar so I made this vid for her

  • Oh I see

  • How well does it work with brown sugar?

  • white sugar is only white because of a dye. it's a chemical and is bad for the body (as most unnatural chemicals are) which is why we onyl use brown sugar in my house.

  • I don't eat any refined sugar any more for the most part. I only use it on the outside of my body. What kind of chemical do they use to bleach it?

  • They use sulphur dioxide. The same stuff volcanoes emit. To be honest, I don't know how much that'd affects your skin. I haven't looked it up but the things is I'm pretty sure that's considered an irritant to your skin and of cause, worse to be ingested. Hmm...I had to some research myself actually and I only just realised that I should stay away from brown sugar as well.

  • O_O what's in brown sugar??

  • oh whoops... i pasted 2 other links so you can look it up yourself but I dont see it. apparently brown sugar is white sugr but with the molasses added back to it. so maybe raw brown sugar o raw sugar is the best. if i rememer later on, i'll paste it. just off to my classes for now. also, u can just google stuff up. try searching for 'white sugar dye' or 'brown raw white sugar' and read through some stuff. if u notice, some sugar sites will also claim there's nothing it. Lies. lol.

  • why the hell do they take the molasses out in the first place? that's like 2 extra unnecessary steps.

  • k so this isnt the kind that u use with strips??? right?

  • You can use strips with this one if you want

  • do you stir it while it cooks?

  • Yep I do

  • The recipe in the description is without a thermometer

  • and how long does it take you to do it with this ??

  • About an hour and a half for cooking, cooling, and waxing. It all depends on how fast you are at waxing and the size of the area to be waxed.

  • does it work??????

  • Do you mean does it work in pulling hair out? Yes it does- works miracles in my case actually

  • Is this wax reusable?

  • It usually stores well for about one to two weeks.

  • hey thanks for the tutorial..but urmm i dont have a thermometer...how can i tell its done ( like an obvious observantion)

i ahve attempted this once ( not using ur tutorial) and it didnt turn out too good.

plus do u have to have use lemon in it?

    thanks

  • About every three minutes, put a tiny bit of wax on a spoon to test it. Run cold water over it till it's cool. Then stretch it with your fingers or try spreading it on your wrist. If it spreads well and pulls hair off when you pull it off, it's done.

  • Thanks :) will do

  • is there a different between brown sugar paste and white sugar paste (besides the ingredients of course)

  • I personally didn't like the brown sugar wax as much and it didn't store long at all. Other than that, I don't know of any other differences.

  • Thanks Amy. I made some late last night in secret. LOL It worked! A little messy though. I poured it onto wax paper to cool down. As a test run, I tried it on my lower belly. OUCH! i have blood spots and bruises which I'm sure will go away. I'm hesitant to doing my legs because of all the pain. Thanks again.

  • I'm glad you had no problems cooking it. If it's causing red spots, try working a little water into the wax ball. Just a tiny bit though or it might become unusable.

  • I just let really burning hot water run over it for a couple mins until it comes off.

  • do you know how to clean the pot after you pour the finished product into the pan?

because some residue is left in the pot

i tried it once and it was SOOO difficult to get the stuff off D:

    great video btw (:

  • I cleaned mine instantly after pouring it onto wax paper. However, once the water hits the inside of the pot it hardens.

  • I just used the recipe I put in the info area on my other vids. Most likely u didn't cook it long enough or u put too much liquids in and that's why it was watery.

  • how did u get it to be all solid-ish. when i made mine it was completly watery and i could not use it like how you did in your other video. reply please. thanks!

  • well it depends on what kinda sugar you use. in this vid i used brown sugar for the first time and it came out really dark. If you've seen my other vid then u can see how light it is when you use white sugar. And it is very sticky to use. It won't be firm. That's why using a fast flicking method for the waxing part is good because then it doesn't get stuck to your skin.

  • okay I absolutely failed. Nothing worked for me. Firsly my sugar was all clear and see-through. And as I understand it should be light brown or brown white or something, shouldnt it? Maybe that's because I was mixing it while boiling? Secondly I couldnt make it into paste, it was all sticky. Maybe you could do another video including everything from the very beginning to the end, when it is ready to use? I would be very thankful!!

  • 260 is in fahrenheit scale, isnt it? So in celsius it should be about 126?

  • I don't use strips I find it easier to use the method i showed in my next video but u can always try lol!

and I'm not sure about about the lemonade thing... :(

  • what do u use for the strips/is there an alternative?

  • stupid question, but can i subsitute lemonade for lemon juice?

if not, what else can i substitute for lemon juice if anything?

  • Not much much but I found using brown sugar makes the sugar wax crumble and not be usable the next morning. white sugar makes it last a lot longer

  • What's the diff between brown or white sugar??

  • Amy, can you show how the rest of the preparation goes (making it into a paste, etc...)
