  • on a 5-stringed bass where the tuning is BEADG, does it still sounds OK if i tuned the B to A or it sounds like fart?

  • @founderjay no.. >.<

  • how much did that ibanez cost?

  • I know how to tune it easily, just use harmonics

  • can you tune the B string to an D?

  • can you tune it like a guitar = E a d g b

  • @sgguitarfan7 Yeah, mine used to be tuned like that. Except on a bass its usually EADGC

  • the whole time i was staring at the guitars behind him...

  • All I do is Tune my Bass to standard guitar tuning, or Drop D. I think it works rather well.

  • i clicked out of this video once i saw the uploader was expert villiage

  • Hey, i'm up for the Drop Ab, would you please write what the rest of the string are suppost to be?

  • the brown note

  • dude look at the headstock its so weird looking

  • I just tuned my girlfriends g-string.

  • Wow you saved my life just there.

  • Use a tuner (Fzone FT-009) clip on, set to "BASS", if it does not extend to five string switch the tuner to "Chromo", chromatic scale and it will then identify the low B string.

    All the best! : D

  • Latino bikini brides**rockmycity.info**

  • blue bass is a yamaha erb070

sorry had to put that out there

  • you can tune it from a keyboard keys toovery simple, just B,E,A, open string I tune mine out of the keyboard or a grand piano,

  • I feel dumber for having watched that video.

  • Here's a concept ... Get to the point... Damn just get to tuning... Couldn't you see me reading the vomit bag?????

  • thats a nice 5 string lol

  • What about using harmonics? Once you have one string done you can tune all the others using the 5th and 7th string natural harmonics. I takes some time to get used to it but it works quite well IMO.

  • I wonder if he will talk how to turn the pegs? More interested in the question in what direction the right to keep neck bass guitar when I was a professional violinist and hokeist ?))))

PS This is the most stupid video that I've ever seen on bass guitar.

  • How to tune a 5 string bass?

Let me guess, you tune the four strings as per usual, then you tune the 5th string to B.

  • I prefer tuning my 5-string bass to the "high C" tuning, but I think I currently have "low B" strings and I think I kinda like it with them tuned to "high C" though. Does anyone know if tuning the strings to a different tension than they're meant for will screw up my neck or anything?

  • @nwj55 There's no way you could switch from BEADG ("Low-B") up to EADGC ("High-C") without snapping all your strings - an entire string's 5 steps is much too far to tune. Could you be thinking of "C-Standard" (CFBEbAb) which is just tuning up one step from a standard B-tuned 5-string? (A good deal of Modern Metal bands use this tuning, Dethklok being a great example). The typical "High-C" tuning is not using the low-B and replacing that with a C ABOVE the G on a 4-string, and there aren't...

  • @nwj55 ...many string sets made for that which come to mind: most people will buy a 6-string set and save the Low-B if they have a BEADG-tuned bass, or buy a standard EADG set and a single High-C string to make up the complete set. There's only a small difference in tension between Low-B & High-C (the latter needing more to be tuned higher) and would need a minimal adjustment if any - the biggest change would be the nut, that would need replacing between the two tunings. Hope this helps!

  • If someone watching this actually needs the subtitles they obviously don't need the english translation of english or they are hearing impaired and wouldn't be playing bass in the first place.

    Overall, this video is useless.

  • The subtitles would be helpful if the viewer speaks English as a second language and wants to see the dialog written out so it's easier to understand. Or, they can be translated into the viewer's first language.

  • super useless

  • this vid:useless

  • Thank you, that was very helpful. I thought the added fifth string was the thin one.

  • why do you call yourselves expert??? while all of your teaching is basic than the basics... doesn't even help anybody...

  • Oh my god this is so useless :D

What Bass Player does not know that a five string bass has a low b XD

If you dont know that, stop playing bass.. and people who dont even play bass dont what to know about it..

    Useless expertvillage :D

  • i thought exactly the same :D

(hopefully) noone playing the bass doesn't know how to tune it right xD

  • @Fischer667 Hey have you ever heard if a high C setup? wow you people are super critical even though this kid really has NO clue what he is talking about. if you want to use a tuner get the harmonic on the fifth fret and tune each string there it will be more accurate btw

  • what?

  • Anyone can recommend me a home practice amp? My Peavey Minx 110 doesn't do the B string off my Ibanez SRX705 well.

It doesn't give the "grrr" sound of a string at all ...

  • Ive got a peavey max 158, sounds good with my 5 string; plus it's not huge and fairly cheap I payed £70 (about $120) and it's served me well.

  • I ended up with a Laney RB3 bass amp, it's got a 12" speaker and a built-in simple compressor.

It's everything I could have wished for at the size and price.

  • everyone unsub expert village!!!!

  • i agree here this guy offered no help,.empty

  • @mastertung7 lmao, you didnt get that? its simple, learn how to tune a 4 string, then youll understand how to tune a 5 string. he wasnt going step by step, but more like giving you tips.

  • @coldpizzarules lol i know right////lol" so the guy asks, hey do you know the difference between a 4 and a 5 string bass? guy answers......1 string' lol

  • i always tune my bass C-E-A-D-G...much easier to play in my opinion

  • how do you do that,.its souds cool, and different, what advantages do u get? thanks

  • B string got broked that i tried to tune B string on my bass Guitar.

I used my electronic tune for helping me tune B string but it broke!!

Please Steve tell me what i did wrong?

  • man .the b. got broke, u must have one made of cheap tin,.sounds weirdyou must be wined, and wined,on a on a it poped

  • pesimoooo no ayuda nada!

  • fail....

  • if you tune a 5 string to drop B do you tune the B to an F#?

  • you cant say drob B ona five string

  • well what do you say?

  • i say five string couse everywone knows a five stringed bass is tuned in B

  • oh right

  • wait i chanched my mind

if you put a five string base in drop b you tune the other ones up a whole step

  • ok fair enough

  • if you tune all the other strings up a whole step you can. unorthodox but it would work

  • A Five String in drop tuning would most likely be A-E-A-D-G

  • Ok that didnt help at all, i mean he said the best way to do it was with a tuner or by another instrument

    wtf man not helpful

  • what is the standerd guage for a 5 string bass ??

  • B-G:

    130

    100

    85

    65

    45

  • thanks

  • you talk too much!!!!!!

  • Oh!!! I've never played a 5 string before. I erroneously thought the 1st string to be a C addition. The additional string is actually above the low E, and tuned to B. Wow, I feel like a real dufus.

  • you could had a high C to it, ie heard it could be done, so instead of it being BEADG you could make it EADGC i use normal BEADG on mine,

  • Are string sets available for 5 string basses designated as EADGC?

  • probably if not just get a 6 string set and just keep the extra B

  • Okay. Thanks for the info.

  • no prob, good luck

  • I just now got a 5-string bass from my friend, but how do I know which setup it uses (BEADG or EADGC)? Or does it not matter and I can tune the strings how I want?

  • its BEADG

  • i actually used this video to properly tune my left testicle's ball-hair. it works!

    scott baio for president!

gidget can swallow a whole ripened avocado pit with her butthole lips!

somebody stop me before is start stopping right from the pause after the beginnings' start's ending.

    ?

  • @pipisitoface wheres your instructional video?

  • lol he's making it so complicated and not even explaining it properly.

  • use harmonics on the 5th and 7th or 12th frets.

  • Thats what I would do too. You can play both the notes and get to the headstock easily without holding a fret down by doing 5ths. I have an Ibanez bass, and they are really easy to do harmonics on, so If I was stuck without a tuner I would do that.
