this is one of the best marvel tories ive read in a long time, and theres no sequal if they do make it it wuld rune it. it was awsome tho marvel has got some talented writers
i think hulk was used instead of sabertooth because hulk was his first fight or nemesis, his reason for being in comics. so it was nice that after all these years wolverine finshed the job. also im glad i didnt have to read another sabertooth vs wolverine story.
I personally Loved the series. I did feel though that it left me with more want than fullfillment. But it was a very depressing nature to the book, seeing Giant mans bones being used as transport tunnels was creepy. As well as seeing thors hammer, it felt like "future" continuity like this was going to happen. I was also really pleased because marvels been dispensin crap out for the past couple of years so I like it.
well im not saying its the best but i enjoyed the art mostly.its not my fave anyways.i would prefer reading some green lantern especially the blackest night going on right now
I feel you on the Sabertooth Eric. Though I think Milar was going for a circular effect y'know? The first time Wolverine was ever seen was fighting Hulk and it sorta goes back to that. but sabertooth needs to be in the sequel if there is one
I knew you would enjoy Old Man Logan, I never really thought of it as The Dark Knight Returns (by the way I am going to get that in trade soon), but that's a great comparison.
There are a couple of things that I still don't get, like where were teams like Excaliber at during this, but also you said it's set up for a squeal. So maybe we will get some reasons why they never came.
speaking of dark knight will you please review strikes again since you are the only person besides myself that i know who really likes it. Also because it really talks alot about the decade
i was real glad that u did a review on a run of comics and did not give a big spoiler. i was real sure u were going to giv away the spoiler on why wolveine retired but u didnt. until the end when u gave away how the hulk children spawned.
i agree sabertooth should have made an appearance, but the final confrontation with the Hulk was the best way to go, because that was his first confrontation ever. Also, i like to think that the mental trauma logan suffered contributed to his aging faster (just an idea).
im glad you enjoyed it =7 like you said its the best wolverine story. But i had a problem with the end it just seemed sped up and the emotional connection he was suppose to have with his family just seemed like it should have been hashed out a bit more so his killing rampage seemed a bit more emotion driven
Yea that makes sense but the cap they use in the book has brown eyes and we all know Steve has blue eyes. But hey that might be something they over look.
im glad u liked it and the reason theres no sabertooth is because millar was respecting current continuity where jeph loeb killed him (and i actually want to read that story becuase it sounds hilarious) i loved hawkeyes moments especialy when hes reflecting about why the villians left him alive becuase hes always had that "not as good as cap thing" i would have reviewed it when u asked but im no where near a mic but still great review
as the parts you dont like just go with it, and as 50 years is concerned wolverine should have been younger

remind me why Wolverine wouldn't pop his claws up? I haven't read the book in a while

Sabertooth should be the main villan of OML2. Plus, Millar needs to tie this to his FF run perfectly

i always find it strange in many stories on earth when there are big battle like gathering of villians, (xmen 3 for example)
sabertooth seem to be forgotten to by writers. it sabertooth it a big party an well he is the party animal .

The "blind Hawkeye" thing is such a ripoff from The Dark Knight Returns - a handicapped old version of the "arrow guy" in the Marvel universe.
kometman 2 years ago
I didn't take it that way. I think Millar just likes Hawkeye.
