I ride a recumbent trike as my primary transportation, which is like one of those, but without the body and without the motor. I've lost about 75 pounds since I got it less than 2 years ago, and have gotten over 40 mph. When I was fat like him, I couldn't even get up to 30 mph.

Nice news piece. Velomobiles are very cool, though not all have an electric motor. The 30mph speed while pedaling is actually a bit low. The aerodynamics of a velo mean that it can approach 40mph on the flats with exertion. That does depend on the particular velo and driver though.
