  • yeah katada deserved it even the another one too was good ,but katada ,he is more fashioned and powerful

  • Awesome performances, great stamina of both, thrilling!

  • I do WTF style taekwondo and this kata looks like 10 times more advanced than the kata I'm learning right now.

  • I can clearly see the two different styles of Suparinpei in this video. Awesome performance by both karatekas I enjoy watching. Thank you. Beautiful !!!!!!

  • I practice Goju-Ryu :) This is my favourite kata even though i havent learnt it yet. Long live every karate style and good luck to the ones who want to follow the way of the empty handed warrior :) Ossss

  • kata es muy superior tecnicamente y tambien en kime, pero creo que se comio 2 pasos. Eso no hace que sea eliminado?

  • He has got great speed and remains strong stance except at 2:56, tiny inballance, but the heck with it. NICE KATA!

  • Sorry guys, I rated the video one stra by mistake.I actually wanted to press the 5 star. Would love to meet this two great karateka in a tournament!

  • Katada specializes in Shito-Ryu but my sensei once told me that he performs kata like Gojyu (a bit exaggerated for Shito-Ryu katas). But, he still is a great performer.

  • shito ryu....

  • Nice!

  • My fave kata to perform :)

  • Textbook hip vibration and rotation, something so many karatekas never develop at 2:40. Fantastic performance.

  • Great kata performance . hip movement and timing of the reverse strokes of first gyu are very powerfull and worth imitating. arigato. oss.

  • Man, Takashi is so humble. This is a true karateca. Way to go, Takashi!

  • Totally perfect. Wonderful performance of the first competitor.

  • My criteria, when judging, is to judge whether or not the "block" did what it was intended to do; slip blocks and other open handed blocking techniques are often intended to deflect, perhaps to feed into another technique. I do the Goju version of this kata, but liked the Shito version as well. I pretty much like all kata when they are well done; the style or school doesn't matter to me. It's all traditional karate.

  • You can note the difference in the enbusen (pattern) of the SHito Ryu vs. Goju version, especially after the 4 shiko dachi- gedan uke in the middle.

  • Trying not to sound naive but... which guy is which and which of the two suparinpei is the shitei version? they're both so different!

    ta

    :)

    p.s these guys ARE awesome

  • Aka is Katada (Shitokai) and Ao is Furukawa (Gojuryu). and suparinpei is not shitei kata.

  • you mean tetsuya furukawa?

  • I have yet to see the enbusen practiced by Katada.

  • Incredible kata from Takeshi! I cant stoo to see this video.

Hi from Ushuaia, i practice the Seito Shito Ryu.
