The fact that American troops are in so many countries is evidence of our insane policy of policing the world. Obama has been no better in my mind. He has renewed the Patriot Act and the dates he sets for moving troops out of Iraq moves further and further back. Democrats and Republicans alike are taking a stand against freedom at the behest of a misinformed American public.

There's nothing fine about having troops in a war for 100 years. To compare the military presence in S. Korea or Japan to Iraq and the Middle East is ludicrous. There's no war in those latter countries as far as I'm concerned. If the war continues as it likely will for some time, this military presence will be engaged in active combat.. and that seems okay with McPain.
