@daywalker1222222 Yes, you do. This move is also called the wrist trap gator roll. (Gator rolls are only useful in freestyle, not in folkstyle) Without trapping the wist, jacking your opp. foward, it is now callled the twister. The twister is easier to hit, but not as safe if done wrong. W.T. gator roll is a little harder to trap the wrist but safer to execute.
how would i grab the wrist if he tries to peel my arm off to get out of the headlock? lets say i already have the underhook and the headlock, but dont have the wrist yet. can he peel off or would the underhook stop him from doing that?
actually..the wrist gives you a lot more control. leveraging only the head has many flaws and can be escaped from. it's not that hard to get the wrist. i've gotten a lot of easy pins with this move. really fun to pull off.
Yes u can definitely do it from the standing position. Look up Jamar Billman on youtube you can actually see him hit the move live in the state finals. PA has alot of the best wrestling and a lot of the moves and styles develop here
@MrTwistatelli That's interesting. I actually learned this from my teammate who transferred from PA. (We live in CA). I agree..PA must have a lot of great wrestling programs cuz my teammate said he was just pretty good in PA..but he ened up taking 3rd in state in CA when we were in high school together.
@ghyt21 Yeah I know California has tremendous wrestlers too. When I was still in school they used to have this dual match called the Dapper Dan in Pittsburgh and it used to be the US all stars vs the PA all stars. And a few years back I took fifth in PA states and bumped up a weight class for the Brute High School All American tournament and took first there. So from my experience PA is prolly the best on average but some of the other states develop incredible wrestlers. I mean look@ Cael S
@othpromo I taught my son the same move and he got it in 5 minutes.However,I'd say that Coach Kudda here did a better job than I did with the specifics of this movement,but in my defense I was teaching how to striek with weapons into standing clinch range,combine throws and groin strikes and tthat dropped our guy to all 4's and THAT'S how we pulled off the Cement Mixer from the Front Headlock...and my son pulled off the whole movement before I could finish explaining it.He's a natural.Lol.
@dereksoccer888 Not if u hold the wrist , my son was doing it @ 6 years old. Look @ 6:44 in my 6 Yr. Old Noahs Wrestling Highlites from illinois 2008

Sometimes I didn't even bother catching the wrist and would still execute this move with a successful pin.

@sommbitch999 no gator roll is where you grab your bicep and roll not his wrist. it looks very similar though, common mix up.
fmitchell24 1 year ago
@sommbitch999 it's a crappier version of a gator roll
