  • may seem like a dumb question to most of u, but do the reuse the same blower each round?

  • @ChubbyLumpkinz

I've always wondered the same thing. I've tried watching this at the past couple of Nat's I've been to, they pull the rotors and check them out, look inside the case, but after that, I don't know. I'm guessing if they don't backfire the motor through the blower, that they would probably be good to go.

  • @TheMoezilla it just hit me like wow they rip the motor apart but what happens to the blower. lol thanks for the response though and not being a tool about it :) glad to see somebody on here has a brain lol

  • @ChubbyLumpkinz I respond like a tool only when somebody posts like a tool.

  • @TheMoezilla if i could thumbs up this 1,000,000 times i would lol

  • amazing quick ......regular garage need 4 days ...lol

  • those pistons, incredible

  • just awesome

  • They could hire one more guy if that fat boy would lose about 120 pounds!

  • This motor would be adequate as a trolling motor.

  • These are just general numbers, averages I guess you'd say. 8,000-9,000 HP, unsure because no dyno in the world can handle it. A stock dodge hemi engine cannot turn the blower. Air/fuel is compressed into a near-solid state. Spark plugs do not make it past half a run, the engine compression-ignites the rest of the way. The engine has to withstand only 900 revolutions under load. It can be totally rebuilt and ready for another run in half a hour. Crazy.

  • @UncleBubbles94 yeah and the amazing part is theyve had pretty much the same design for decades. only subtle changes have been made since. imagine how much it could do if a big name company made one new from the ground up

  • @AdangerousRETARD not much. I will give you an example. Burt Munro had a sidevalve Indian v-twin engine (sidevalve being hopelessly inefficient). It was so finely tuned that when he converted to ohv he didnt achieve the same power for years(if not over 10 years), and it took a much larger displacement for that also. Even if the basic principles of these engines are simple and very old tech, the truth is they are so finely tuned that it would take years for anything else to even catch up.

  • This is wat i wanna do for a living...

  • how do you build a motor to make 8000 hp?

  • @redneckrider250 First you need a Strong American V8. Second, You need Nitro Methane, because Nitro Methane is the secret to the top fueler's power. Nitro Methane literally is like injecting C-4 in to the pistons, it explodes.

  • some of these machines make excess of 6000-8000 hp. thats just a guess because dynos cant read it.

  • 10,000hp is abit over the top in my opinion , 8000rpm is correct to what most guys aim for but I have seen up to 10,000rpm across the line which the engine isnt very happy but they do go there

  • they rev a maximum of 10,000rpm , make 8000hp , supercharger at full noise takes 800hp to drive , key to getting the cars down the track is the clutch , these cars have no gearbox , 500ci max displacement.

  • @highside80 8,000 RPM and new calculations show they are making approx. 10,100 HP now

  • music sucks

  • โห เห็นแล้วรถบ้านๆอย่างผมหนาวเลย

  • @moomoochieo my thoughts exactly

  • NHRA IS THE GREATEST SPORT EVER !!!AND I'LL BET YOU CANT BEAT ITS GRASS ROOTS FAN FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE!! F#@K NASCAR!!

  • My car broke down the other week- but the garage guy used the fact that I have appeared in adult films as a stick to beat me.

He told me “Perhaps you think this like your scene on YouPorn, where you’re begging for your car to be fixed for free & it all ends up with the manager tieing you naked to his office chair! Piss off, & take your disgusting gay-for-pay sexual fantasies with you!”

I am not ashamed of my past & am complaining to his Head Office about him.

  • @SuperTruth77 0_o ok lol... bit random..

  • Enough crappy music already.....

  • blower on top fuel car makes 65 lbs boost. takes 750-1000 hp to turn it 8000 rpm

  • 8,000+ hp, 7,000+ ft·lb, 6G acceleration from a standing start ,

most people would literally shit themselves unconscious instantly upon acceleration in a funny car

  • All you nascar faggots couldnt dream of having the SKILLS to drive one of these!

  • the real skill here is not with the drivers but the pit crew

  • Comment removed

  • these cars make me wanna cry

  • my god, look at the size of those intake ports

  • OH

    My

    GOD

    look at those rods

straight billet. ha weight obviously doesn't matter at 8K HP only strength.

    All aluminum motor?

  • NASCAR is boring to watch if you don't understand it. It all starts out at your local dirt track.

  • It's 10 thousand dollars to make one pass with a methane dragster .. they have to rebuild their engines after every pass

  • That is a big ass supercharger lol

  • Totally honest this type of work has been a dream of mine to do exactly what these guys do.

  • Good vid. Music sucks!!!!!!

  • @grumpypant yeah check it, i was at zmax sunday watching steve torrences warm up and had unburned nitro splashing me in the face!!

  • What is the name of the song

  • What is this for a song ???

  • For those of you who are new to NHRA Drag Racing, it used to be a fun motorsport, especially during the mid 80s to early 90s; watching this video makes me feel sad because it reminds me how they had the Pit Crew Challenge where teams would compete each other to see how fast a team could disassemble/reassemble a nitro motor IN TEN MINUTES OR LESS; there were constant attempts between teams to break each other's records in the quarter-mile speed barrier...

  • @grumpypant

Man, it's still a fun motorsport. I agree that the 1000 ft took a pretty big bite outta the fun factor, but, the total live experience of being at a National event more than makes up for it. Taking a newbie back to the pits for a warm-up and watching their reactions, or watching a few launches from the start line, and then catching a few at the big end?

    Still an amazing experience.

  • @TheMoezilla i think the bite outta the fun factor was when they stopped letting you stand 15 feet behind the cars...

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 I've been going to Bandimere and Brainerd for the past 5 years and I was right on top of the nitro cars when they were warming up, too close in fact. I guess I can't speak for other tracks on the circuit, as far as how close they allow you to get.

  • @TheMoezilla what i mean is when the cars are staging and racing... they still let you in the pits just not behind the cars while staging

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 Okay, I got ya. With my work schedule and distance from the different tracks, Brainerd and Bandimere are the only ones I can make it to. There are a couple of set in portions in the east side fence at Bandimere where you are pretty damn close to the track. I've seen a lot of tracks on TV with WAY too much room between the fans and the action. Kinda sad, but, over-kill on safety precautions are to be expected this day and age.

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 Type in "8ft away from NHRA Top Fuel in Florida", Pretty crazy video, but, I don't think they let you get away with that at many tracks.

  • thats about how close you could be about 9 years ago at sears point aka infineon. They also used to have a tunnel that went right under the track and when the cars went by it felt like an earthquake.

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 May I borrow your time machine? Seriously though, I've loved drag racing for a long time and finally got to a point in my career where I can afford to start attending these races in person. I regret not being able to attend 1/4 mile nitro drags anymore, hopefully again someday, still, the experience for me is awesome every time race day rolls around and I got tickets. The home theater gets quite the workout on Sundays when I can't attend, and that's a lot of Sundays!

  • @TheMoezilla Last time i went i met Bob Glidden, of course people like John force and Warren Johnson but also the one and only Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins. I actually gave him a cigar too... he just looked at me and said Thank ya. My personal favorite is pro stock... theres just something about making 1500 horses naturally aspirated with over an inch of valve lift spinning over 9500 rpm. Amazing stuff. Somewhere on here you can see a video of a top fuel fuel pump. it looks like a fire hose going off

  • Very impressive.

  • This car makes 1000hp turned off..

  • I WANT THAT BLOWER ON MY MUSTANG!!

  • Some ppl like drag, some circuit, some rally, give them all a break. Drag is nice if u wanna see some races fast, other categories are fun if u have time-to-kill :)

I think I like all, as long as there is cars driving :)

I dont like any bike-sports tough, it has to be 4 wheels hehe :)

  • i see the funny car doing the burn-out, and before stage, the crew open the body do some thing... close the body and run....

what they do before run...can someone say me.

  • @faq147 they are taking the throttle stop off which is only used for the burnout, turning the computer on and turning fuel pressure up.

  • @pr3177 tanks dude.

  • @faq147 After each burnout, when a funnycar or top fuel car is backed up to the starting line (they share similiar engine/transmission power) to prepare for a launch, the crew chief hook up the second magneto for full ignition; during a burnout, only one magneto (an engine component that looks like a distributor) is connected for the engine to recieve just enough ignition...

I think the crew chief also turns on a second fuel source, if I'm not mistaken...Or maybe the driver does that.

  • @grumpypant yeah, the driver actually pulls the fuel pump on all the way after he has rolled into pre-stage.

  • @nitr0junki3 Hey, do you know if NHRA ever going to bring back the full 1/4 mile for the Top Fuel/Funny Car class; then, I would come back and continue watching and tuning in for the next nationals event? Thanks.

  • Nothing can ever come close to comparing to seeing a top fuel dragster or funny car live.

  • And resleaved the cylinders too. Amazing. Simply amazing. Very Impressive.

  • Designed for racing, lmao look at that! They have insert for cylinder bores! All they have to do is take out the old and put in the new......man I would love a job like this, the rush, the excitement, wow.

  • whenever the dealer u buy ur car from takes a long time watch this and call them

  • they are pro drag racers is it that amazing to u

  • 70 min thrash for a 4 second blast...totally worth it!!

  • damn is that 2 spark plugs per cylinder?

  • yep, and they get so hot and melted that the replace them every run. spark plug life for top fuel and funny cars is like 4 or 5 sec lol

  • holy shit. i was looking up about them i found some cool stuff i didnt know about them but i still dont know how they start them up is it like a button or turn key?

  • master arm switch and a hand held starter on the super charger pully to rotate the engine. cool shit

  • thats cool i read that the supercharger requires 400 hp alone just to work

  • @65438922

    900 hp it's 14-71

  • @65438922

some of them have 3 s.plugs.

  • @2jzgtejza80 everything on that car is more,, more torque more hp more spark plugs more and better fuel (nitrous) more services and more fun

  • @65438922 they need to run 2 spark plugs as one is a backup because they pump that much fuel in there a single miss fire cause the engine to hydralic which bends rods breaks cranks and blows heads off.. cheers

  • @65438922 have a look at "top fuel dragster fuel pump single cylinder demo" on youtube

  • Huh..So they use a sleeve kinda like a diesel engine..It's sealed off and pushed down by the head bolts. Wow..Never knew that.

  • I know you sleeve aluminum blocks or you will chew up the cylinder walls. I dont know if these guys r aluminum. They may sleeve them to handle the high cylinder pressures. As for rpm I think they run between 8 and 9 thousand rpm. These r very dangerous motor...lol

  • Oh yeah..these things have just gotten rediculous with the power. These things now have over and inch lift camshaft....25 years ago that was un heard of. They are defiantly amazing.

  • I hear that. They deffinetly breath fire with that rediculas cam profile. It's like the valves never close. Over 300 degrees of duration. Most engines would not even start they would have no compression. lol.I want one just to say I have one.

  • @460ciford ya there aluminum

  • i've always wanted to know but never got an answer... what is the usually max rpm in these beasts?

  • prolly around 20,000+rpms. these cars scream. and i never new they swapped cylinders too. The whole damn thing gets rebuilt lol I dont think these engines ever last more than a few races. Thats nuts.

  • i really doubt 20k+rpms. the displacement is too large and the torque on these things is just way to high. i just really want to know the max rpms on this thing. i'll try google

  • @pzpepsi Peak Hp on a top fuel engine is about 8200rpm, peak torque is @ ~6300rpm 500c.i. solid aluminum hemi

  • @PlanckEp0ch thanks but i got my answer about a year ago

  • @pzpepsi I read that the ignition system limits the engine to 8400 rpms

  • They do scream, but they're actually running around 8,000 rpms at WOT.

  • i have woundered to i would think cause of the power and speeds they pull i personaly would think about 10,000-15,000 but thats my personial opinion. but of course i could be on the high side.

  • I think it's 8000 RPM. Not positive.

  • 9500 rpm is what the limiter is mandated to, they can run less if they want. usually they barely get to it in 1000'.

  • Another sick ford using Mopar Hemi teck to go faster.

  • Ever heard of JohnForce racing? All their funny car's run the Ford Boss 500 top fuel engine. Yes it is pure Ford power not, Mopar.

  • pure ford? Nothing in any of force's motors are from ford. Everything is aftermarket stuff based on the 426 hemi mopar.

Force runs TFX parts, Tasca here runs mostly BAE.

  • Their mileage is not calculated in MPG , ITS DONE IN SMILES PER GALLON. top fuel is the s hit

  • Hahaha, the size of that inlet manifold haha.

Glad human can make it all possible.

  • Yep Motocross and Top Fuel Drag Racing are the 2 toughest and most adrenaline pumping sports there are, no questions asked! Awsome Video!

  • not better than hop scotch

  • That's an awesome video!

  • id like an engine rebuild done in 30 minutes plz :3

  • scorpionruf ur a loser

  • hmm muscle car, oohhh its those things thats like a train, only will turn if you put a rail for it. Still i love the Stringray : )

but where i live, Rally cars are the anwser

  • Do you know what a true sport is that actually takes talent? Seriously. A driver has to have someone telling him how to drive around in circles. NASCAR is quite possibly the dumbest, most boring sport on the face of the earth. 3 1/2 hours of left hand turns compared to 4 1/2 seconds of raw power. One of these cars has the horsepower equivalent of 8 of your STUPID LITTLE PUSSY CARS. Come to the good side if your a real man.

  • you are so fuckin right, i hate nascar. and well, F1 takes skill too, but drag racing does also. bottom line is, not all motor sports take a lotta skill but high performance circuit (F1, Moto GP, Le Mans), straight line top fuel drag racing, and motocross (trust me it takes skill) are like the toughest. but NASCAR is so gay

  • ASSCAR

  • @NitroAddict4428 yeah drag racing is awesome with that much horsepower but run 3 1/2 hours of left turns at almost 200 mph and tell me your not tired just sayin nascars isnt tht pussy although it is boring as hell to watch im more of a dirt track man myself

  • @NitroAddict4428 Thats nitro for ya! One NASCAR per cylinder rite there good buddy!

  • @atrockersbest more than 1 nascar per cylinder. nascar have a max of 850 hp

  • @NitroAddict4428 ya, and to the other guy nascar are olny making about 800hp, 1000. so it would be more like 10 nascars to run that. not to mention when a super small CI SB revs 8K= it sounds like a import, pssshhh, i like alky and nitro in anything, sounds like bussiness.lol

  • @NitroAddict4428 You are so ignorant, it really is unbelievable.

  • @NitroAddict4428

AMEN BROTHER! There is NOTHING like driving in a straight line with your motor mach ten!!

  • @NitroAddict4428 How does it take talent to drive in a straight line? Nascar is a pretty enduring race, that has much more action than drag racing. Sorry to say it, but it is probably 4+ times more popular than drag racing too.

  • @suzukiracer15 drag racing is pure power! the only reason nascar is more popular is because even though you don't like racing, if your a redneck your born with nascar blood. so you are forced to like it! even john andretti tried it at one time, he liked it but was too much for him. strap little dale in a rollbar with a motor burning fuel that some people even say it's a controlled explosion! i bet he would run with his little butt back to his roundee round car!

  • @NitroAddict4428 HELL YEAH!!! NHRA RULES!!! nascar sucks!! and if you dont agree you've never been to a drag race !!! great post man!!!

  • @NitroAddict4428 i like drag racing alot but i love nascar its my sport cmon cant we all just agree that indy car and f1 are a bunch of pussies lol

  • @NitroAddict4428 not three hours 5 HOURS lol its exciting when your high lmao iv never watched nascar only crashes

  • @NitroAddict4428 Nascar may look boring on the outside but there is so much more to nascar than driving around a circle track they are going 200mph 20 inches from each other and they do that for 5 hours straight

  • @NitroAddict4428 lol nascar is fucking dumb. hahahah your comment has brought this to light lol.

  • @NitroAddict4428

omfg do you know how much balls it takes to go 200+ mph in a car that has no traction or stability control? thus going only centimeters in distance from others. who gives a fuck if there are only left turns? NASCAR is about racing with raw cars in high speeds and being mindful of your engines and cars conditions in order to even finish the race. I wanna see how youd do the sports 'that takes no talent'..

  • @NitroAddict4428 I used to be into drag raceing. Enjoyed it for many years, then finally became bored with it and started circle track. I didnt think either one was stupid. And of course top fuel has much more horse power than nascar cars do, and its obvious why. You almost seem angry and unable to comprehend why some people like nascar. A few million people love nascar. Think they are all stupid?

  • @NitroAddict4428 you are quite ignorant, as a circle track, road course, and former outlaw drag racer i can tell you that they all take skill and nascar is no joke. it takes immense skill to drive your car at 170mph and stay on your groove when there are cars two feet to your right and left. besides dragsters are like rockets, immensly powerful but one time use, whereas other racing cars, nascar included can be driven for hundreds of miles. dont be so quick to run your mouth off.

  • @MaBcMCLAN Lol.. Agreed, though I must admit that I don't particularly enjoy or follow the sport, NASCAR's gotta be an insane stress-endurance test for the drivers & their vehicles alike. I prefer F1 myself and from what it goes to show, this guy's opinion would rule this & ALL FIA championships out as well LOL! Almost can't believe this dude just blew off an entire racing league based on engine power alone!

  • um, i'll have those spare rods pistons and sleeves please. lol

  • 2 valve push rod FTW! (hemm Lt1/Ls1) Eat that DOHC mustang cobra guys! :)

laugh it off mustang guys....dont start nothin..... because I do like mustangs too, love for all American muscle.........however....camaros rule:)

  • Damn, I wish I could afford to rebuild my motor after every drive! I also wish I could do it in under 40 minutes, those guys are good... even with a couple buddies I couldn't do it...

  • These people know their shit and they are FAST

  • one time i asked a guy and he said that kind (not one like that)of beast has like 800 hp without the special fuel and with the fuel its 2800 hp its 2000 hp just with the mix

  • well yeah man, what do you think expels the energy to move the pistons up and down. fuel/air mixture is extremely important.

  • Damn, they pull the sleeves and all...

  • Crazy how advanced and yet simple those engines are.

  • I did not know that they were just 2 valve push rod's wow, but really it's all in the Fuel they use.

  • not just the fuel but how much? sure you col look up the figure, but you have to look up the injector flow test the do. full throttle run up puts crazy amounts of fuel, looks like a water fall! plus did you see the size of that supercharger? took 2 big guys to remove it. awsome shit!!!

  • They burn a gallon a second at full throttle. A gallon every 4 seconds when idle. A gallon of nitro is 15 bucks and a 40+ gallon barrel is 800 some dollars.

  • 22 gallons in one run, including burnout if im right,,,,completely worth it, fuck the trees

  • OK, this streetfire video was pretty darn cool! All around, good job guys. 2 thumbs

  • anyone knows aprox weight of the engine.. and car? as well how much TORQUE? RPM red line?

and how much fuel gets burn for 1/4 mile?

    8000 HP is wicked!

  • i just read it burns 75lts per run

  • What a HUGE spoiler wind O_O 1:33

I'm surprised it didn't flip the car over at such shocking speed

  • It does not look THAT big if you take the side panels of the wing. Seems its more to keep it straight.

  • man that was awsome how long does it take to put back together how many spare engines do you take to events do you have a back up car

  • Nice, wish I could work on my own car that fast.

  • amazing!
