It's called taking the easy way, taking the path well travelled. Mickey Arison apparently likes to play it safe. Yes Carnival is the largest but why wouldn't they? They've BOUGHT most of the well known brands. Give each brand the same ship, decorate them slightly differently and give the responsibility for success to the lowest overhead department, PR. I have zero respect for any company or its founder who constantly play it safe, sooner or later it always catched up with them.
I see Freddie being bigger makes it better? Because Carnival own so many brands that makes htem the most successful? Depends on how you look at it. Personally, with all of Carnival's resources to constantly turn out one clone after another, for each of their brands does not quantify success. To me Carnival "settles", more is well..more! I have no problem with Carnival Cruise's corporate philosphy. The fact that Carnival's philosphy is seen in all their brands has diminished their value.
Apparently Mr. Heald wants viewers to believe Fincanteri built its name on the generousity of Mickey Arison. Fincanteri has been around long before Carnival, and long before Mr. Arison worked for NCL. Personally I don't see how difficult it is, or how much of a milestone it is to build one clone after another.
Carnival is a quantity company, not quality. The innovation long associated with Carnival is increasingly becoming a thing of the past.
