what stands out about this tool to me: one of, if not, thee best can opener which I use most; the finish which is very rust resistant and shines in case dropped; the chisel; the scissors are fine, fine, fine; the tools are Loooong, which is better for filing and cutting wood; the locking is sweet!
@TyrantsAREhere i agree on the can opener except the best canopener is on a gerber multi tool. i find the screwdriver tipped can openers can't cut as fast as the dedicated can opener on the gerber. i have thought of maybe grinding the screwdriver off the end and resharpening it.
Good video dude... Hey, although Victorinox has a lifetime warranty, I think that they'd service your faulty tool instead of replacing the whole knife... They can replace a faulty part, for example, a saw or blade by opening the knife and reassembling it with a knew tool... they'd not send you a whole new thing
@MrVrsilvestrejr2008 Unless you're an A. Marshall or have connections with airport security(Domestic & foreign), don't bother with the risk of having it confiscated. (That experience sucks from what I hear)
Your review misses to mention the accessibility of the Victorinox.
In my opinion the Swisstool easily wins on easy of use because all the tools are accessible from the outside. For me this outweighs having one handed access to four blades (as on the Wave).
Wish I could organize my brain before posting, but just thought of something else. On the Wave, it looks like the only tools accessible from the outside are the blades. It looked like everything else required opening the pliers, at least part of the way. I have an original Leatherman PST with the clumping tools and the blade with the nail nick and the sharp edges on the handles once you open the pliers. Leatherman's come a long way.
Great video. Re: the opening of the blades on the SwissTool vs. the Wave. If I need a knife blade, chances are I'm going to reach for my Mini Grip or Delica anyway. It only becomes an issue if your multi-tool is your main/only knife.
I have a SwissTool of some sort. I have problems finding what model it is. It is, however, entirely BLACK. I got this about 10 years ago, sometime around 2000 or 2001. It does not have scissors, however. Got any idea if this is some sort of special edition or was that just the way they were back 10 years ago?
@KalConduitman ah okay. Military / Tactical is black and has a serrated blade whereas the "civilian" version is polished steel and has a scissor instead. Cool.
why is it every video i see regarding the swisstool, someone is comparing it to a leatherman wave. they are both fine tools.
