@thewowmister Only the first run of these included the puzzle lock and the DVD rack. All of the newer sets look the exact same, but do not include those two features.
i have this! For people who want to buy this set but are not sure, this is REALLY worth it! I love every trick so much, i will practice each one until i perfect it because i want to perform these tricks! Each is so original and well thought out. Really worth it! You must buy this once you have $300
I hate being a poor magician. It makes it difficult to learn new things. However, that being said, I believe it leaves a lot more room for creativity in making your own tricks. Still wish I could afford this though -.-.
im 14 and i would say im pretty good with sleight of hand and i dont know if i should get this. i have seen a bunch of his tricks and he is amazing, i just dont know if im ready though! please respond!!!
look at the bat thing at the bottom left it looks like a demon ghost rat thing!!
im 13 and havent even performed magic for a year, and i have this. most of the tricks are pretty easy and the set overall is compeltely worth the money
seriously, is this worth the money. im not cheap, im 14 and dont have a job so ill need to save a lot. it seems awesome to me, but is it really truely worth it?
It depends, do you like to learn from reading or through DVD instructions? Also, do you prefer sleight of hand or gimmicks? The DVD set comes with gimmicks and includes a lot of sleight of hand tricks, but the books are mostly sleight of hand.
so i really do love slight of hands but i actually don't despise gimmicks..so all in all the dvd set is better because it gives you both plus you can see it performed..but i always hear in interwiews with houchin and such that the art of astonishment changed their lives ecc ecc...what do you personally think what is better to get to the next level?I m doing magic for 3 years by now but i don t feel im coming any further..can you give me an advice?
It's really hard to say. I love both. The nice thing about the TA Set is that it goes over some tricks that I overlooked in the Books. So along with a bunch of new stuff, I was seeing tricks that didn't translate well on paper, but killed me when I saw them on DVD. It sounds to me like the DVD set would be best for you, but I don't want to knock those books because when I read them, it really changed magic for me.
@magicgeekinc I'm not a big gimmick fan...especially if they are one trick only gimmicks. Double backs/faces, coin shells etc.. are ok though. Eventually...over the years would it be good to get both, or would that be a waste? Also what about the card college, and Expert coin magic?
@InvisibleMasquerade I have both and I think they complement each other. Some of the gimmicks in the set are one-trickers, but for the most part, with a little imagination you can use them with other routines. I like how a lot of the stuff is customizable.
Hey man, I'm considering buying this, but I have a few Q's.
I'm 14, been dooing illusions for a year, and I just want to know if this would be good for someone who can decently easilly mess up a trick. I can do most cards tricks, but alot of times, I just mess up. I want tricks that have HUGE effects, but they're almost impossible to mess up, and also they don't take TOO much skill.
wow kid, sounds like someone who would ask for a high paying job that requires you to do absolutely nothing. look, a trick is only as effective as its presentation. i can make 2CM totally make someone go bang their heads against the wall and do the same with something complicated wth passes, glass, etc. WITHOUT PRESENTATION YOURE NOTHING.
Actually that's not true. Technically you MUST have presentation but it must work in tandem with your trick set to make it work. 50% is performance the other 50% is skill. I should know working at the magic castle. If you guys want to know the truth, this box set is just a bunch of variations and non-paul harris tricks performed with a hip performer with a bunch of gimmicks or tedious set-up. A way better choice is to check out paul's art of astonishments, 3x more tricks and at half the price!
Buy the Card College books starting with book 1. Remember, it's better to do 4 or 5 tricks really well rather than to "do most cards tricks, but alot of times, I just mess up."
@themaskedchristian not just the answer to that question i have an answer to ur magic career. Just whenever you learn a trick no matter wat skill it is, practice it for at least 2 weeks. (in a mirror) keep practicing in front of a mirror until there are no flaws and ur confident. you may not get it the first couple of times, so the key is to practice. Some tricks are harder than others. don't push ur self too hard. just go one step at a time. hope this helped!
This is a rip off.. why didn't he show whats in the bag if they're such amazing things included.
so i guess he's just at work as usual.... fooling people. this time into buying this over priced red box of shit.
If you actually wants great vaulue just buy a afew packs of cards n learn for yourself.. you might actually be original and creative rather than a consuming zombie.
well, I guess you have a point, but showing what's in the bag could be like magic exposure, showing the gimmicks in the bag may reveal some great magic. Just a thought.
you are so stupid, as a magician this stuff could come in handy, and it is not a rip off, any normal DVD costs anywhere from $20 to $30, ane being a magic DVD where it exposes tricks makes it even more valuable putting it at about $40 like he said, and considering there is 9 DVDs plus a crap load of gimmicks, that is actually a good deal
trust me mate, you will not be dissapointed, give u some advice buy some matchbooks or go and get some matchbooks before u get this, water trap on this bad boy is unreal!

$300 plus tax is $500? Where the hell do you live that the tax is so high? I live in Seattle where tax is 9% and tax for this product would only be $27. But depending on where you live, you can buy it online without tax and just pay for shipping.
$360 worth of dvds..$100 worth of gimicks..thats $460..the price is $500..i think they overpriced it..lol..i want this box set..but damn i dont have that much money to spend
I must completly agree. I have this set, and i want to say its terriable, just so no one else buys it, I want it all to myself. Every effect has the moment of astonishment, leaving even the sceptics not knowing what quite happend. Each effect could be sold for so much more than the total of this set.
It is the most amazing set i own, and you will get your own moments of astonishment out of this.
No no no..lol:) like we're not rich or something:) What i ussualy buy are like...books..and not so popular things because everyone is doind like pressure and stuff.( the only really popular thing i bought is Tarantula)..so i try to do different stuff live:) i don't wanna hear someone Hey i've seen this from another magician....:P:)
