  • im watching all these videos today its wicked....

  • Don't really see how they're similar...

  • They're similar inthese ways: Ska & reggae are basically the same, except for the fact that reggae uses the down beat of the rhythm & ska uses the upbeat of the rhythm with syncopation. Make sense?

  • Yea that does, but I meant these two songs in particular. They dont sound like each other at all

  • 88ers, you're absolutely right. I didn't even know Marley sang this song. I need to correct myself: Actually, in these vids, Marley is playing a steady ska & Brad is playing more of a reggae rock style. I prefer Sublime's rendition in this case, though.

  • 88res-

the lyrics are the same in both songs when bradley sings "waiting for a bright holiday". it's the same as in the marley song "mix up mix up", it even has the same high-pitched repeat of the word "holiday" at the end of the verse.

you cant miss it if you listen to both songs separately. this is similarity in 1 line, not in the whole song. nonetheless, bradley was inspired by the marley tune.

  • dude no need for that

best band ever and great song but anyone can be a fan

  • nope
