Sounded pretty legit to me, son. At one point, I learned some whole platter slappin' routines, and shit, but I felt like a hip-hop vampire came by and sucked all the magic out of it for me. It's comin' back the more I forget. That probably sounds real fucked up, but it's like learning the dopest magic trick ever. It doesn't work on you no more, 'cuz you know how it works. Fight the vampire off as long as you can, and always make shit. ALWAYS! :]
I typed 'record scratching' into Google, and this was exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks for uploading it (and yes, you do underestimate yourself!)
This comes to show that you don't need the highest end Technics and Rane but you do need something called Talent, Thumbs UP maybe one of the most amazing scratch videos I've seen, Simple? maybe, but the JVC Home turntable with the plastic as a Slipmat just makes this unbelievable and Amazing.
the mixer is a Gemini umx 5. this is an old discontinued mixer with 2 channels, vca faders, reversible xfader. It's like a Gemini's version of Vestax pmc 06. I have mine for bout 4 years (bought 2nd hand) and the faders are still working great like. Only thing is that they're not so smooth anymore. The beat is a loop from The Herbaliser track but i don't remember the title righ now.
try spraying some Wd40 on the faders it works a treat for me, makes me feel like i have a ttm57 or summink lol peeps say it wears them out but there full of shit, give it a go!
Yo ilike those cuts, your chirps were on point too. I like the way you flowed with the music instead of trying to overpower it. You took it back 2 the days of Jazzy Jeff, DJ Scratch, and Daddy Rich. Its all about control with the record hand not just the fader hand. Forget about fools killing themselves with the 100 click flares.

You can, but you shouldn't! :D You'd break the motor that spins the record. Regular record players aren't designed for scratching.
