good match, but kid got his ass handed to him. everyone knows Ryan's game, so everyone know how to shut it down. the problem is that he still taps people out or outpoints them. must be tremendous luck :-P
I would hardly call this match "getting his ass handed to him". Sean escaped Ryan's back control and reversed it on him at the very end of the match. I have never seen anyone do that to Ryan in competition. Also, Sean is a purple belt and Ryan beats black belts all day long. He did a good job for anyone, especially for a purple belt. I never said anything about luck, Ryan beat him fair and square with his tremendous skill, but it was certainly not a domination.
Yes, I'm sure a seasoned grappler like Ryan Hall would willingly let go of his back control knowing there is only a few seconds left. Maybe you aren't familiar with competition, but if you are, I certainly hope you don't consider the fight over 10 seconds before it ends. Any serious competitor is going to hold their position until the ref steps in to signal the end. He tried to hold on, and almost got reversed. I can assure you he did not "stop at the end because time was about to be called"
It was with about 5 seconds left and you can clearly see the point where he switched from the back to the calf lock and then just lets it go. Props to both guys for a good match.
Yeah I never thought about that being a sweep at 4:07, but I guess since 50/50 is a neutral position, then that should have been two. I thought that there should not have been pass points because, although ryan had flattened me out after coming up from the 50/50, I still figure foured my legs around his leg? Regardless, it was a fun match.
great fight. I am assuming the guard pass was at 4:32, and might have been quick but he transitions right to the back, so kept pass control. I see a very clear sweep for Hall at 4:07, assuming he never got the two?
Although the 50/50 is a guard, and Ryan sat up for a pass at 4:07, he never passed all the way to Sean's hips, so that shouldn't have been a pass at that point.
he didnt reverse anything ryan went for a calf lock he didnt get reveresed he went for a submisson

Nice reversal attempt when Ryan went for the calf-slicer. good match. it's a good accomplishment to go the distance with Ryan.

Hall stopped at the end because time was about to be called. There was no "reversal."

Not true. Ask Ryan about it if you ever see him.

That granby roll back take reversal at the end was SICK!

That was slick and cool that you can set up with one hook in. Very slick sub, and you cant roll to escape and get an armbar.

He didn't get points for the pass. He got 2 for the sweep and 4 for the back to win 6-4.
