  • dont use the blade u idiot

  • It looks like a cattail is getting more and more popular lately... have you seen bushcraftbartons' video how he make a torch out of it? Very nice vid Wolf, and thank you for sharing.

  • Very good - many people have trouble with cattail fluff - the fibers seem to burn up very quickly. But you did very well :-)

  • My God, put your boots back on. Have fun re-sharpening that knife!

  • @monstersdoexist Wolf walked Bruce trail all over barefoot and that's his way of enjoying him self in nature, just as Cody Lundin ... Hat down for that. And for years I am using the very same method to lit the fire using various types of tinder and Leatherman's Wave serrated knife without any problems and dmg to the blade. Even if there is a dmg it is easy to fix it.

  • You don't have to use last years cat tails. If you split a mature cat tail from this year it will unfold even fluffier than displayed here. Use dried tiger lily flower stalks for the next stage then dead evergreen and so on. Be sure to have all steps available at your finger tips because the first few stages happen very quickly. Cat tails work best because they remain dry even on rain days.
