The connection to Bruce Lee is deeper than you think. His whole philosophy for JKD is seen in Kill Bill. If you try to class Kill Bill 1 as a genre what would it be? Western? Samuri? Kung fu? Anime? It's none of them and it is all of them, the essence of them all combined in one movie. Thats why she is wearing a Yellow teacksuit.
This is what I've been trying to tell people! QUENTIN TARANTINO IS INSPIRED BY ASIAN CINEMA!! He is a good director but it's NOTHING NEW. But a lot of people refuse to believe that foreign films (such as Asian cinema) are unique with original ideas. SADLY people won't watch an Asian movie because they're lazy asses don't wanna read subtitles. So they have to wait for Quentin Tarantino to "INTRODUCE" a unique style of cinema-making to western audiences.
@Yooniverzal - By today's standards then everything that is old looks bad. But if you "think" most of those movie look bad then that's your opinion. No problem there. Many of the films that Tarantino took from are already critically acclaimed world wide and have good reviews. That means that there are people watching them & enjoying them; both cinema buffs & Asian film appreciators alike. But thank you for your opinion.
I like old movies (although I haven't seen much, I should, as I'm a filmmaker). I was making this comment halfway through the video, and a lot of it looks cool. 'Most of' should be 'some of.' I'm not really a big fan of slow zooms, where a dolly in my opinion would be more effective, and that's what I don't like about some of the parts I saw.
Tarantino never went to film school he went to movies!

I think (most of) those movies look REALLY bad, and that Tarantino just takes the good parts, and blends them in a cool way.
