A couple weeks ago, I had to make a program that could take in a GPS location (in realtime) and show the position on google maps...I wanted to write it in JAVA since it would be cross-platform...but the fact that I had to make the frame from scratch made me use C# instead...FML
Nothing you can't program yourself without Eclipse. Besides, Eclipse is defeating the whole purpose of swing behind Java; to create cross platform compatible applications. Dragging and dropping objects into absolute positions on the screen maybe a nice feature, but will the objects display right on smaller old school monitors and on different operating systems?
Showing ppl this type of capability is elementary. The big problem is making UI's which can dynamically respond to internal system states at runtime. For example, being able to dynamically show or hide menu options at runtime based on security and authorization constraints with in a security apparatus like JAAS or AP server security configs.
nice about eclipse

This video only shows that you know how to create a GUI in Java with Eclipse. I still don't have a clue how to do it.
