  • The show itself is cheesy but the woman narrating is grandeur :P

  • I don't remember ever seeing Andy Pandy, I was more of a Bill & Ben guy. He looks kinda scary. But they don't make narrators like that any more.

  • Epitimy of Britishness

  • this is adorable!

  • I just started watching this cause my friend sent me the link, and I about cried.

Puppets scare the living shit out of me.

  • I used to love this as a toddler.

I believe it's being remade next year.

    Andy will be p*k*.

    Teddy will be gay.

And Luby Lu a black lesbian.

Don't you just love the loonie left crank, PC nutter world that we live in.

Blair and co must be very proud of themselves.

  • I remember it was so traumatic when Andy Pandy ended.

  • Even as a 3 year old, there was something slightly irritating about Andy Pandy- perhaps it was the womans shrill BBC voice, that they were always so well behaved, or that you never got to see what went on in the basket. And Looby Loo was a bit of a wet blanket- a bit like an older sister that took herself a bit seriously, or liked ponies or something equally boring

  • I watched this when I was little, I'm 27 now and still remember what happens next lol!

  • i used to watch this when i was a kid :') great memories

  • Although I wasn't in the 50s my mum got a video (VHS!) of watch with mother around when I was about 5 and I love this still!

  • @cookie123456789012 same haha my mum had it on VHS and i watched it when i was 5 too, same story here so weird!

  • I LOVE ANDY PANDY SO MUCH. i prefer the old ones, the orginal andy pandy to the new updated ones with have this century, wish they'd show the original ones on tv >.<

  • The show was actually very clever political satire. This episode, for example, is an allegory of Churchill's manueverings to regain the Prime Ministership. The swing is the swing of voters, of course....Teddy is Harold MacMillan...and Andy is of course Anthony Eden, slowly going mad and, er, waving with his feet. Ahem, yes. :)

  • Wow, I use to watch this back in the 60's

  • these shows bring back memories I am now 55 years old wow black and white telly programmes

  • I'm 18 now and still sort of want to cry when he gets put in his box. Ah, memories :')

  • This ACTUALLY looks like me as a child...and my name is Andy, so i've had this nickname all my life . :)

  • and i'm the real andy pandy will you be my looby lou?

  • I'm 16 and found this by accident.. I remember my nan showing me these when I was 4 O: Now I can't stop watching them again :3

  • the upper class accent of the narrator never bothered me when i was four.... i think my mother allowed me to watch because of the accent lol.... it now irritates the crap out of me lol

  • When we got our first TV sometime in the 60's, this was the first show I ever saw, and I absolutely loved it.....I was only a small child but it was so un-real as I had never even see a TV before, let alone a programme for children. I have never forgotten Andy Pandy, Im in my 50's now, and I loved watching this old clip....

  • My mother watched this as a child and loved them; she introduced them to me a child and I loved them too - I'm 18 now and STILL love them!

  • Well it looks like Andy Pandy has got a pretty good life really.

  • Poor Andy. People don't realise that he made these programmes despite his health problems. His brother Matt, who appears in the Wooden Tops was killed in a varnishing accident and Andy went to pieces. The fame was to much for Andy and he became a drug addict just to stay afloat. Teddy, who had been clever enough to invest in independent television, did try to help him but Andy was beyond help.

  • Watch with mother is the scariest shit thats ever been made for kids...

  • Never did like Loobyloo! She was a spoilsport! Teddy was my fave!

  • Aww we didn't get the "time to go home' song at the end. Remember that? "Andy is waving goodbye...goodbye...gooood...bye". ;-)

  • My good old nan kept copies of these on tape and I use to watch them when I was about 3 in 1990. 40years after it was made, I use to love it. Good old nan.!! Also original Bill and Ben in black and white.. Memories!

  • awesome and i still remember it as if were yesterday its much better than the modern take on it .....

  • Classic memories

  • Another classic show I grew up watching these as a kid.

  • This some scary shit

  • Gay

  • HHAHAHAHHA i remember watching this as a kid... love his little legs moving at the startt

  • roundthewildin3clicks, why is it creepy? It was gentle, and kids back then loved it, and another generation of kids did too. Have you seen the Woodentops? Better than Dallas any time! And what about the excitement in this one when Looby Loo is left on her own and starts dancing about? And all that getting together in the basket at the end. You have not lived! LOL!

  • Oh! What memories this brings back! I watched this series in the 1960s, they kept reshowing them then made some more and I think they finally went into colour in the 70s. I remember precious times, sitting in front of the tv, when things were qiuet.

My mum was very busy usually, but in those days there was always time for Watch With Mother.

  • GO ANDY PANDY! SWING SWING SWING

  • ° Ja, woher wusste er es - bin 1967 gebiren... Ers agte, er weiss es, dass mich sowas prägen wird, wenn ich nicht so heisse - heiss ich auch nicht, sondern mein Hund

  • giddy?

  • OMG i used to have that episode the where mother makes paper lanterns

  • @mankz103 me too! i used to make soo many of them - i really want to watch it again :(

  • @mankz103 I loved that episode!!! Haha I always used to make those lanterns

  • @lindseybfmvfan /watch?v=qE9dsOu3oE8&feature=related :D

  • @mankz103 /watch?v=qE9dsOu3oE8&feature=related :)

  • this has got to be the creepiest tv show for kids

  • I think Loopy Loo was safe in the box with Andy. But that Teddy....who knows?

  • im told this show was taken off air some years later, because andy use to jump in the basket at the end of the show with loopy loo. is that PC gone mad or what.

  • @bondsee - I think Noddy and Big Ears got the same treatment because they slept in the same bed together. I don't know about PC, but that does seem a bit weird now.

  • @expatbritingermany its the twisted minds of the adult censors not the kids watching it !!

  • Omgosh, Andy Pandy you were dandy - I could not stop singing along after all these years (DOB '57) - thx4mems ♥

  • Omgosh, Andy Pandy you were dandy - thx4mems ♥

  • this brings back memories i use to watch this on vhs

  • brings back lovely memories of childhood .in days where i didnt need to have common sense. just a sense of playing.nice.bring andy back. can someone do this on facebook?

  • Looks strange now but when u were a kid it was great lol kids and mums sat together not left plonked in front of tv on there own ! It was quality time maybe that's why so many people remember it classic

  • dd children have brain damage back in those days?

  • I have a Looby Loo doll that I bought at Boots when I was younger! God! I still have it!

  • Wonderful.....God, did i love Andy Teddy and Looby Loo.

  • how cute, i am 2 young to have seen, brilliant.

  • aww i love Andy, in fact i love them all , teddy is so cute and so is all the rest. those were the days.

  • I wonder what happened to the pupeteers, or even who they were

  • omg I loved andy pandy when I was little... I've just pissed myself laughing at teddy nearly getting knocked out by andy :D

  • Teddy looks like he has Parkinson's ;)

  • andy should have kicked the shit out of that bear while he was down

  • Every Tuesday, we were allowed to be gentle and innocent. In no way were they creepy. There was a genuine desire to please children with complete and open communication.

  • age of innocence.....reminissin about a soddin puppet how sad is that....loved him to bits xxx

  • 10 seconds in and im welling up,dear oh dear!!!!!

  • I used to cry when Andy Pandy said Goodbye

  • @SooBooBear oh, so did I - every Tuesday without fail!!!

  • @SooBooBear oh, so did I - every Tuesday without fail!!! And the closing sequence can still do that to me!!

  • Absolutely loved Andy Pandy - Teddy was my favourite!

  • i miss this :'(

  • Yeah we used to be innocent :)

  • were children ever this innocent and sweet..ha not anymore...sad.

  • All TV shows had the same style until the seventies... I agree that they were a little creepy but innocent and I love them all. Nowadays children are involved in shows which try to sell fashion, sex and violence. So sad.

  • this is so scary, i dont think i can sleep tonight :(

  • im scared of puppets :(

  • I love Teddy.

  • OMG!! I remeber watching this on VHS too when I was a kid. I'm 22 now. Watching this makes me feel so old. LOL ~ "In my day we had to rewind the video back to watch it again". XDDD

  • Christ, I had this on VHS when I was a bairn. I can't even remember how I got into Andy Pandy... I'm 21 now!

  • THIS IS SOOOO CREEPY!!! my dad always told me how creepy andy pandy was but I never knew it was this bad!

  • @bakuman000 why is it creepy, you scared of a puppet ?.

  • I hated this and now I know whyI have a clown phobia!!!

  • My parents watched this when they were small and they HATED it! Andy Pandy looks so freaky!

  • @boffinme80 whats freaky about andy pandy.?

  • i wish i was born in this era so i could have watched these programme's. their a heck of a lot better than the hannah montana jonas brothers stuff.

  • I have been trying to find this for years. I used to ADORE teddy.

  • Those are some killer special effects.

  • Oh for goodness sake people - leave Andy alone. Must I make a youtube video like the "leave Britney alone" guy?

Andy Pandy was an innocent show for kids of that era. We had the show in Australia too.

I remember watching this in pre-school years - so innocent, so long ago. The world had changed soooo much.

  • @EdieSaidSo - I was 9 years old when this show was on but most of us didn't have TV until 1953 - we were all so innocent then - much better times - children were still children not miniature adults. They grow up too fast these days

  • Love the way Andy craftily tries to knock Teddy senseless with the swing, of course we all realised Andy was the first ever 'terminator'.

In the final episode, finaly driven ballistic by Teddy's awful dancing, Andy hurls the stupid bear over a nearby cliff.

  • At least I know now that Americans weren't the only children who were tortured by weird tv shows back in the day! I think I'll have nightmares tonight.

  • SINISTER!!!

  • Isn't is a wonder this didn't do something SERIOUS to my mind. I used to watch this as a very young child. It now just amazes me.

  • Jaysus, what a little freak.

Must be this little bastard who's responsible for clown fear.

  • Wasn't this the episode where Teddy gets a guided missile launcher?

  • Now i can see why we me mum hated this show when she was little(Her sister loved it btw) Creeeepy LOL

  • I love the new Andy Pandys.. he is so cute.

  • Aw, my Granny had this on video, I used to watch this when I was little at Christmas! It's so lovely. I'm 19 and it still transports me back. (:

  • Propper puppet shows.

  • when he swings in the garden I can see fred flinstone smiling in the backround

  • @LameckSevensky It's in between the two trees

  • the first thing tht pops into my head wen i c this is scary sad clown wandering the the wooks and its all blak and white which makes it evn scarier (yes i kno i hav weird thoughts) =P

  • In these more enlightened days it is pretty obvious that Andy Pandy was gay - though of course nobody realised it at the time.

  • @Forlogson Lmao!!

  • @Forlogson I know teddy was just gagging to hump Andy Pandy...

  • i hate this, it scares me so much!!!!!!

  • @Tokiohotelgirl97 True, but nonetheless, this was what we children got for life in the early sixties. Terribly, it feels like downloaded from the twenties. Nosferatu is a ripple on the surface.

  • Aha, he waves with his feet!

  • why has he got a deformed mouth

  • OMG my mum used to play me this on video when i was a small child even though im ony 21 now and i cant believe iv seen it again after all these years, I LOVE IT

  • Even today,at the age of 49,I love watching the original Andy Pandy. My mum says I used to scream the place down when episode ended.

The original is far superior to the new one.Modern remakes of classic kids tv like this doesn't work,in my opinion of course.

  • I watched Andy Pandy and Bill and Ben as repeats in Australia in the early 70's.

  • @Jeansieguy same:D

  • I used to watch Andy Pandy when I was a kid, but not this one

I didn't know Andy Pandy were more than 50 years!

I liked the new Andy Pandy, but this 1st version is terrible!

Now I know way the adults are so weird!!!

  • Isn't youtube amazing that you can watch show now that were on almost 60 years ago. I haven't seen Andy Pandy since then. The Woodentops were another show we watched and I loved Spot the dog. I love string puppets, now I know why. Thank you for this clip.

  • I used to have this on Video with loads of other black and white shows but I cant remember many, there was this, flowerpot men, one was a family and there was a dog n some twins in the family n the twins would say they were eating sawdust for dinner, then there was a rabbit that would get muddy and had a water finder. does anyone know what shows they would have been called? Thanks

  • @timelady1994 I just rememberd the family one with the twins was the woodentops, just need the name of the raabbit one now, oh and there was a woman making paper lamps on a differnt show aswell

  • @timelady1994 Rag Tag and Bobtail was the one with the rabbit. I named by cuddly rabbit Bobtail as a child.

  • watch with mother well i had too my father was always down the ale house

  • @HellFreezesOverWhen

You are not alone. I found this decidedly unnnerving as a little tot for some reason. Flowerpot men, too.

  • Such an innocent time, before I was born, but I love it!

  • 1). How did you get this episode?

2). Can you, or anyone, post any more episodes, from this series? (that would be wonderful!)

  • o the simple life

  • Thanks for sharing this clitterpiller. Brought back so many memories. Nostalgia is such a bittersweet thing!

  • "Never mind Teddy you're all right" - oh the attitudes of yesteryear! These days Teddy would sue Andy for the physical harm and the narrator for the psychological!

  • . . . Am I the only one this really really creeped out? :/

  • I loved andy pandy and teddy

  • i remember when i was really little i used to be really sad at the end. i still get emotional hearing the end music...

  • We first had a television set installed in 1952 when I was five years old (at 1, Eva Road, Cheadle Heath, Stockport) and Andy Pandy was one of the first programmes I remember watching on it. I loved it, especially the Time To Go Home song at the end when Andy and Teddy had to climb back in the basket. I don't remember the narrator's name, but all posh, upper class women from the south talked like that then, with a received prounounciation accent. You just don't here anyone talking like that now.

  • Loved Teddy hated the doll looby loo would cry when teddy went into the basket lol

  • Why did Lubby Loo have to pretend to be dead whenever Andy Pandy and Teddy were about? The narrator always seemed anxious that she should return to her normal "dormant state" whenever she heard them returning (from the pub?). As a young child the thought that they might one day catch her was very frightening. What would they have done if she'd been caught up and about? Now I'm 45 I still can't work it out other than think some sort of violence would have been enacted upon her. Horrible!

  • @38dragoon38 Violence, where the hell did you conjure that up from. Give me a break.

  • row

  • this is the funniest shit ever, even the narrator has no idea what that wackjob Teddy is gonna do next

  • Can't believe it!!!

This is exactly like i remember since i was 2 years old!

This was a very long time ago already, But not as long ago as 1952.

So really? It's been around since 1952?

  • andy pandy used to scare me as a kid im 27 now

  • dammit i love this show! :B

  • round and round the garden like a teddy bear 1 step -2 step tickle me under there !

  • I remember watching the vhs of this and she says '1 step, 2 step, jumping in the air' and all I can remember is me when I was little jumping about like Teddy :P

  • Don't do that Andy! You'll make yourself giddy!

  • ahaha, look, he's waving with his feet!

  • Ahaha, thats hillarious!

  • I'm only 20 so obviously wasn't alive when this originally aired, but I had a few watch with mother vhs tapes when I was little, and one of them had this episode on. It reminds me so much of my childhood, it's wonderful :)

  • me too, they were so sweet, im only 23 but obviously id still watch them as thats why im on here now :P lol x

  • I wish I could see the whole of this, I doubt my old video still works. :/

  • I actually really like this one!
