My family chose not to have health insurance cause we can't afford it. Now, I'm forced to pay $1900 to the government when I could have used that for my family. On top of that, I'm paying for someone else's abortion! This really sucks.

Worst bill ever put to a vote in united states history. Regular working joes lose, Seniors lose and businesses lose..since when did the government start running anything efficiently? huh? Not only will you pay more in the end, but you're going to like it or not...fines or jail for opting out..."hope and chains" anyone?

this bill is absolute crap. forcing people to spend their money on healthcare they may choose to forego. he says this program pays for itself? i wonder how many $25,000 fines for choosing not have obama's healthcare is baked into that.

I read the fine is $750 a year for individuals, and $1900 a year for families.

Where did you see $25,000? That's quite a bit more.

I think the bill is supposed to pay for itself because it charges its buyers a premium. It's not a free, single payer plan, it's another out of pocket plan - it's just run by the government.

Perhaps you should refresh your knowledge on the actual purpose of government. Protection of borders and the population is priority number one, and is also not a revenue generating venture. The war is funded, just not self funded, and neither is the health care bill. It is funded largely by tax increases on other fronts (non-healthcare). And also... the US government under George Bush did not "start" the war on terrorism. Have you forgotten 9/11/01? One thing President Obama can do is finish it.
