  • people in denmark speak english?

  • we speak danish. but we are starting to learn English in middle school

  • In Sweden we start learning english in 1st grade.

  • No, Danish normally, but we hear E. all the time on TV & movies (subtitles), radio etc.. And then they belong to the same family of languages, so they have a very similar grammatical structure and an extensive common basic vocabulary. So learning E is rel. easy for us, we don't have to think very much when speaking E, which is a very good thing :-)

Many basic words in E. act. come from D. ( give, take, they, them, knife, husband,

    window, dream, sister ... )
