  • The 25th anniversary of Phils' death was just the other day. Still miss him greatly.

  • @RuledByMars65 26 years dead mate. Jan 86 Doesn't seem that long though :(

  • I want Phil's shirt

  • Hey WaddockHunt thanks for posting this, the Downey, Lynott, Robertson, Gorham line up is the definitive line up of Thin Lizzy, they all lived and breathed rock and roll for good or bad, and they are a part of my (misspent) youth, I will be 50 next year and I will always remember the power and passion of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy

  • @drjohncarter1962 Check out the current tour w/ gorham. GREAT SHOW. They don't disappoint.

  • You got to give a hammer to the head to those who don`t like this. Phil, RIp. We`ll never die.

  • I was so born in the wrong decade...! Man I wish I had been around in the Lizzy-days! But it still says a lot about a band that they gain new fans even today, I'm 24 and I'm in awe of these guys, especially the Gorham/Robertson lineup which I think was the best...

This version has such a smooth and sexy sound, just shows how real music was back then as opposed to the so-called "artists" that come out today, this is the real deal THE END

  • My all time favory song by Thin Lizzy this version is soo good. It´s more alive then the album version.

  • my favorite slower tempo song of theirs...Fighting is one their best LPs.

  • R.I.P. Gary Moore

  • The coolest band ever! My favorite band from the moment I heard them (I was 12). The look, the sound, the swagger, they epitomized what "rock star" meant to me as a kid. (Even though they weren't that big in the States). I'm now 48 and watching this video for the first time, I'm loving it. Thanks for posting all of it.

  • Lizzy at their absolute total prime... a thing of complete awe... at this point in time this was the best rock band in the world... I have no more words...

  • lol love Gorham and Robbo on the guitar they look so cool

  • PHIL COME BACK PLZZZ :'''(

  • thanks for putting this up..... made my day :-) What a truly legendary band with the great man Phil Lynott. I love Thin Lizzy!!!

  • i absolutely luv this riff!! now if someone could just show me how to play it????

  • gibson les paul beats fender strato7TELECASTER

  • Never realize just how Good they are. Phil is a legend.

  • No matter how long you're a lizzy fan, no matter how many lizzy albums you have, no matter how many times you've heard their songs - they are, and always will be the most influential rock band of our times.... R.I.P Phil Lynott..... We love ya

  • Best band. Best song (arguably).

    Thanks for posting!!!

  • awesome... truly awesome! this is how rock music is done! perfect! gorham with that slick little intro riff and then that cascading twin lead... there are no words for how good this is!

  • Smokin- I need this show

  • Fuckin' lizzy !!! dose anyone know where to get this gig on dvd??... long live lizzy!!

  • I don't think its on DVD,but there's actually an iphone app called "Thin Lizzy-Outlawed" , and it says it has this show, '75 at the stadium, a collection of his solo performances, as well as interviews from the band, I didn't have the $5 on itunes to buy it but its worth checking out...

  • @WhoTheFuckGotARock thin lizzy, Uk Tour 75- amazon.com $30. audio only

  • this is a well mixed show. i love this period of the band :) go Phil go!

  • the older * i get the better thin lizzy sounds note for note from the album cut done live without a hitch how many great melody lines did lynott fire off? some struggle to find a 1 lynott ... almost impossible to keep count the man just had music pouring out of his being this lick is at once bad ass rock and well choreographed jazz ------------------------------------------------------ * and im 30+ years a lizzy fan where the #$%^ has the time gone?
  • def.Phil was very honest in terms of expressing his true feeling through his music.Even when his life was bad he did his best to deliver.Phil's lyrics may not has been great on later albums, the music was still incredible.Phils vocal delivery had the authority to catch your attention while being soft enough to let you into his world.Until he died he continued to create insightful expressions that let the listener in.I'm just sad that this all was before I was born cuz ida killed to see Lizzy

  • @JustAintthatWay 40+ now and I know where you are coming from - Lizzy has got to be the best line up that ever existed to date

  • @JustAintthatWay I stil can`t forgive myself for being just four when Phil died. Fuck time.

  • i take me mp3 when out with me dog and when a Lizzy track comes on i just concentrate on Downeys drumming....WOWEEE!!

  • There are also good extracts of this concert on the "Outlawed: Thin Lizzy and the Real Phil Lynott" DVD/ Cd combo

  • Best Lizzy line up by far!

  • They have their recognition within Ireland and the UK, and anyone who calls themself a Rock Fan !! :D

We have a bronze statue of Phil here in Dublin in the centre of town ! ;)

  • i want to go to Dublin and see Philps statue he is my hero i hope a can go to Irland soon but who knows

  • @seanoceallachain

You're right man ! Lizzy for ever !!! Perhaps the most underrated band ever. But the influence remains !

  • It makes me sooo angry sometimes to think that Thin LIzzy never get the wider recognition and praise that they deserve. Also Brian Downey is a massively underrated & criminally overlooked drummer.

  • Best band ever. I'm only 14 and have loved them since i was small. There best period was from 1970-1978. wish i could have seen this live. Does anyone no if this is on dvd?

  • FUCKING AWESOME is right!

This is one of my 20 or so favorite Lizzy tunes.

    Thanks So Much for posting!

  • FUCKING AWESOME

  • Downey makes this band, if you know drumming. And I'm a guitarist (Love the boys dearly.)

  • "Downey makes this band,"

Thin LIzzy has been my favorite band for 30 years and I had the great fortune to see them 3 times (once front row), but you're wrong. Brian was a great drummer, but without the poetry of Phil and the beauty of Brian's and Scott's twin guitars you would not have anything near the magic they still have.

  • Phil is da real Rocka

  • this song, this is a direct WORK OF ART ... A real gem ..... lyzzy pity that such a group is unknown ... how much ignorance there is in this world .....

    phil god of rock!

  • That's miraculous! Never ever seen that song live. One of my favorites.

Man, this is great! (I just suscribed)

  • Oh my god, this song is soo unbelievably great, I love it!

Thin Lizzy is maybe my most favourite band of all because they have so many remarkable and unique songs. It's sad without end that Phil had to leave us so soon, imagine how much more he could have given to us. For me he is a legend, a man I really would have liked to meet.

  • Yup - fabulous stuff. I was 10 when my elder brothers took me to see Lizzy live at Birmingham Odean, UK in March 1983 on the Farewell T&L Tour. I think it changed my life, I mean seeing Philo strutting his stuff wielding his Black Fender Bass with the mirror scratch plate left an indelible mark on me - true genius and certainly the best front man/song writer the world has ever seen.

  • im 28 black guy from the south of usa and heavy metal hard rocker since the age of 6 this makes me proud phil is now my hero discovered their catalouge bout 2 years ago now their one of my favorite bands all my favorite bands were influenced by them metallica, maiden, priest, leppard, but this song gave me chills when i first heard it they are the real deal i wish i could haved lived this great man perform . the song sarah brought tears 2 my eyes and if i ever have a girl im gonna name her sarah

  • Such a beautiful song.Thin Lizzy are the greatest band ever. Phil was a great man.

  • these comments make me cry, like ballad of a hard man......oucha boyo philo!!!!

  • How fitting it is to know that both Phil and Best are looking down one us now - maybe Phil is teaching Best some things on Bass and maybe Best is teaching Phil a few tactics - but at the end of the day both came from the small island of Ireland and now are house hold names!! "Black, Irish and Proud" Phil used to say! God rest you both! Heaven needed a hero - and well they got two

  • i heard tizz lizzy play this in arklow :D they were great but this is amazing :D R.I.P. Philip Lynott and George Best who the song is about

  • impressive, incredible, unbeatable ...... phil is talent, phil is god, phil the best of all time, I love phil, Lizzy is my religion

  • couldnt have put it better myself

  • great mouth-watering intro too...

  • best outro ever.

  • I dont think any Hard rock band

had as much heart and soul as

    Thin Lizzy! RIP Phil.

  • One of my favorite less known Lizzy tunes...together with Borderline

  • prsfrank-reliving the glory days. you dont know anybody you liar. i hate when u guys make up these bs stories.

  • This song, by itself, illustrates why Lizzy is the greatest band in history: Name ONE other heavy rock band that could groove like this. God love ya, Phil.

  • I totally agree with ya with the addition of Zep too!.

Lizzy were the 'coolest' band ever and Brian Downey the most swinging rock drummer ever!!

    Lizzy ruled!!

  • Brian Downey he swings, he rocks, he grooves, what a drummer!!

Lizzy the best band in the world, everyone in the band being a first class musician!!

  • Does anyone know much about Brain Robertson??? I heard he was a good player but difficult otherwise. I had heard stories of him getting in fights at pubs and injuring his hands and showing up to wasted to play, are these stories true..? In the early 80's I saw him when he was slumming it with Motorhead.

  • I grew up close to Brian he lived in Clarkston I lived in East Kilbride, he used to work in a local music store and the week before he got his audition with Lizzy he busted his hand in a fight. He used to sit playing his LP for us he was 16 then freaking great player but a bit of nut

  • That's amazing that you knew him. His period in Thin Lizzy was by far my favorite, but nothing last forever I suppose. Thanks for the GREAT story!!

  • yeh he used 2 get in scraps and smashed a vase or sumthing over a nova bands player in defense of another Lizzy member cus the other band was getting violent towards the lizzy member an robbo came in just in time to save the lizzy member from being badly injured!! and he got drunk most of the time - some of the time he was to screwed to even play!!and he used to smoke heavily on-stage and miss guitar cues an that!but he was a real decent player and hes straightened out now

  • Wow you knew him too! Gosh most people would given their eye teeth to have the talent and opportunity that he had, but he didn't seem to take full advantage of either one. I guess that's part of being young and talented, you do dumb things. Although he must have had it together a fare amount of the time casue they did some bitchin studio recordings when he was in the group.

Thanks FENDER for the great story! Peace....

  • ahh no probs i just read about lizzy in magz, and there books an interviews!!

  • One of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs, thanx for posting it.

  • Damn excellent, thanks guys. Phil for ever. xxxxxxxx

  • quality post waddockhunt thanks. The whole gig is top notch,i saw it on dvd a few years back.

  • best outro to a song EVER - downey's snare sequence just makes me shiver

this was the perfect line-up - these four guys cud outplay anybody and no better better person to dedicate this song to than a man who cud also outplay anyone

  • is this coming out on dvd ?

  • I Like this song a lot =) ....THIN LIZZY <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 FOREVER

  • I love this song, Fighting is a GREAT album!

  • thanx mate o' mine for the posting.know what? last listened to this song in 1977 when i was only 14 in a country formerly called Rhodesia!

  • So great!! I didn't think I would EVER see live footage of this song let alone filmed in DUBLIN in 1975. Thank you!!
