I daresay someone's already pointed this out, but the composition is by Philip Charig, not George Gershwin. The industrial strength silliness in the lyrics was provided by Ira Gershwin, George's brother.

Love this tune since I heard Bertie Wooster singing it (in the TV series)...also great images of the holiday-season in 'illo tempore'!
