There is actually a risk. But they just refuse to admit it.

Not a specialist but for what I've hear the risks are very lower than the fission's. The only part that turns radioactive in the process is the inside metal sheets of the reactor, which can be easily disposed, buried, etc.

I'm actually very anxious to see the results of the ITER, EU could just dump a load of money (way way way lower than the $3trillion US spent on Iraq) and hurry up this schedule. 2040's! come on;)

This is a red herring. Risks with fission are already so close to zero that it doesn't matter. E.g. coal particulate deaths in the US corresponds to ~7 Chernobyls per year if you assume the linear no-treshold model for radiation carcinogenesis.

The LNT model is well supported for high doses(e.g. Nagasaki), in doses of a few milisieverts it's no more than a pesimistic assumption made for regulatory purposes.

Although true, the fussion of two H nuclei produces not only He but also a Neutron, which is the problem. The Neutron emissions are so high that you need some heavy shielding, as electromagnetics shielding wont work on the Neutron. The problem is that the shielding gets bombarded by neutrons and eventuelly becomes radioactive, the solution to this is He3 fusion which doesnt have a neutron as biproduct.

No, it can't. The sun can provide at most 20% of the electric power demand if you back it up with natural gas.

If solar panels were absolutely free it would cost tens of times US GDP just to build the storage and transmission with any currently known technology(current best is HVDC and pumped hydro). If you don't back it up with gas solar can't provide any useful power above powering air-conditioning.
