Heh, so for kids. Nothing wrong with that. They used to make live action drama for kids; but not since the 70s, really. Today's generation looks at something like this and can't figure out why it's so rinky dink. Well, it's for kids. They used to make kids shows that were live drama. But, it didn't take long to figure out that you can make more money with lowest common denominator appeal, and that over grown teenager fanwank means you can have young and old watching crap sci/fi.
Both the first Cybermen story AND first regeneration story - ICONIC! Regeneration SAVED the show and allowed it to out-last every other sci-fi show in the world :-)
It always strikes a chord with me, seeing beloved William Hartnell go like that.
After all, he was "THE DOCTOR", & the rest were other doctors. He was the man who made it work, & without his belief in the show, it would never have worked.
Thank you for uploading this. It is probably the most Valuable DW sequence EVER.
RIP William Hartnell. The original Doctor WHO. <3
There is an unwanted little square at 1:56 and the image quality seems to dip momentarily whenever there's a clip. Overall, though, this was a very worthwhile venture - ideal for the small screen size of YouTube. It must have been tricky doing the bits in this part and in the first part when the screen size changes.
The first Cybermen were ace in billions of ways, and also they were not Peter Davisons favouritew look of the Cybermen.

It's nice that despite all those lost episodes from the Hartnell and Troughton years that the first regeneratioin scene still exists.

Finally! The first regeneration, when William Hartnell transforms into Patrick Troughon. Troughton became the second Doctor.
