  • YOUR RED TITLES COULD BE A LITTLE CLEARER, APART FROM THAT, GOOD

  • Yes, I know that Gallipoli and Saratoga should have made the list - but they completely escaped my mind when I was doing this video.

  • dont doubt they made mistakes, but having said that they were the closest nation to ever ruling the globe.and the true first proffesional army

  • @relmmih6

I agree about everything except for them being the first professional military force, at least not as a modern nation-state. The first nation-state to establish a national professional army was - and I´m not being biased - Sweden.

  • @Faxe90Swe didnt know that, but im not talking about recently mate.i was meaning like when britain was colonising the globe werent they the first organised proffesional army?cheers for the repl btw.

  • @relmmih6 I wasn´t meaning recently either. Sweden emerged with it´s professional army in the close of the 17th century. And we emerged as one of the first nation-states in the 1520´s. So strictly speaking I should have said early- modern, not just modern, sorry.

Anyway, when Britain created its second empire, which is the one I think you mean, professional armies had already been established in Europe in general. No doubt though, Britain´s army was one of the finest.

  • @Faxe90Swe cheers very imformative mate.
