@ultimate8pac Hell yeah its a problem tendonitis is very very painful. He was talking about it on joe rogans podcast and said he barely had any strength in his arms at one point. @bazookataj Your list is absurd. You are trying to claim J.Delucia received a "ruptured liver" (YOU SAID IT ASSHOLE), then fought less than 3 months later, dumbass? I guess I "just can't handle the truth" and I guess "I just don't understand physiology". Oh wait, I had the highest grade in the University across all sections in Human Anatomy and Physiology. Hmmm. Funny how being educated in something makes me the idiot! What a FuCKinG LOSEr you arE. NOW SHUT UP.
@kenfo0 You can't handle the truth. Someone showed you up so you call him names. You are a typical little bitch who hasn't touched a biology book. Maybe instead of proclaiming lies and fraud you should do some verification on this subject but the mental status of a troll is a low one so I believe this doesn't comprehend with you.
@bazookataj AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!.... Someone IMMEDIATELY and CORRECTLY marked your comment as spam! Not me! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You made a ridiculous claim (broken liver? HAHAHAHAHA), revised it then called ME stupid because YOU made a mistake and false claim. Then, when asked to back up the NEW claim, you can't. 30 minutes later you reply "I win!" while being unable to back up your claim, making you what I called you: a stupid, lazy, loud-mouthed jackass! You are DISMISSED!
It should be noted that the dummy is mounted on a metal rod and as a result does not move very far during impact. The force of the impact is dispersed over the distance it travels; if a person were standing there and Bas hit them like that they would fall back quite a bit which would disperse the force. It may be possible to do the same damage, but it is a lot less likely unless the person is constricted in some form such has having their back up against a wall.
@sinhaserpente When Bas punches the body he digs the punch upward. So the force travels up the body lifting more then it pushes. Its the same principle in a leg kick only you kick slightly downward instead of upward directing most of the force down and through the leg. So if he punched a person who wasn't flexing like this the results would prob be similar to this test.
@MrGriffen666 He is not striking upward, he is striking diagonally at about a 30 deg incline. The force produced is a vector with the majority of the force traveling along the lateral plain which does result in a knock back and can clearly be seen in the video. Turning over your leg kicks is done to add a little more rotational energy as well as to land it at a perpendicular angle to the opponent's thigh in order to maximize damage.
And this is why I dont do mma... I just stick to Pan Am, Grapplers quest, and the others where no punching is allowed. I might need my spleen someday, and dont want BAS to knock it out...
instead of making bullshit excuses or what not , why dont you take that punch from bas and the see what the emergency ward tells you , wether you train or not , take that punch clean and defensless ur guna feel pain
@stormXviper obviously not, or everyone in MMA and boxing would be out most of the year recovering from internal injuries. the fact of the matter is, muscle, training and proper breathing allow a person to absorb far more punishment than one would expect.
This is some good information, next time Bas Rutten is going to punch me I should consider flexing my abdominal muscles. And you know, take a pilots license for the flight.
thats what would happen if Bas Rutten punched you in your sleep when your all relaxed and dont even have time to tighten your abdominals lol and yea "that is digusting", "n ur touchin it"
@markgeeseblanco Also, the puppet was on a static stance, so there was nothing to disperse the force through the body. usually a body moves with the punch.

@markgeeseblanco yeah its accurate if u guy was just standing waiting for a punch relaxed..its just people get the impression like this is easy to do....or that bas is superman ...i love bas and think hes awesome but this is far from a typical result...
@markgeeseblanco it is not accurate in any way. bas has punched people before, they have not suffered ruptured spleens, hence there is more to it than hitting a balloon in a dummy. Thanks for chiming in with your nonsense.
@kenfo0 - "bas has punched people before, they have not suffered ruptured spleens" - Of course - because they were protecting themselves with flexed abs. That's the very VERY simple point of this video. Is it over the top? Of course - it's freaking Bas Rutten punching a pig spleen in a dummy. This isn't Duke Medical college. I get that. But they're using it to explain a very basic principle - flexed abs protect us.
@markgeeseblanco you got a very different message from most people who watch this video. the obvious intent is "look how hard bas rutten punches". Part of surviving a beating is the individual's genetics/physiology, part is mental outlook, and part is conditioning (both in terms of exercise and getting used to being hit). bas is funny. I wish he were commentator for UFC instead of that retard joe rogaine.
@markgeeseblanco well actually he has busted a liver in a fight so even if this test is not accurate it is still very much possible if you are as badass as bas rutten
@bazookataj You are amazingly stupid. You obviously failed basic biology. Please explain to everyone how a liver is "broken". Actually, don't. You will just drag everyone else into the depths of your stupidity. Now shut up and go away, dumbass.

What happened, you loud-mouthed, stupid coward? You called ME stupid because you said "he broke a guy's liver"...."no, wait, I mean ruptured, therefore yer dumm". Well big "man"? Where are you now? 3 posts to me in a matter of 5 minutes, now over 20 minutes of silence. Don't bother responding, you fucking disgrace.

@bazookataj Really, faggot? That's it? YOU SAID QUOTE: "bas has broken (sic) people's livers". Now you provide information about some guy who is not a fighter, who did not get hit by bas, who had a ruptured liver? AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! run along little boy. you are a disgrace.
@kenfo0 You are a disgrace. How was I talking about a different fighter. Bas has ruptured three livers in his Pancrase career and you are now making up lies. So run along old troll, come up with another riddle and don't drown in your river.
@bazookataj DOES EVERYONE NOTICE THIS DOUCHEBAG KEEPS COPYING WHAT I SAY? you wish you could be smart, but are not. You said QUOTE: "bas broke a guy's liver". After fixing THAT fuckup, you manufacture a reference which equates to "some guy who never fought anyone had a ruptured liver". Then you have the nerve to come back AGAIN and pretend you are correct and a man? You are a stupid, lazy, loud-mouthed jackass. Nothing more you pussy.
@kenfo0 I gave you to reference to a doctor that proved that a ruptured liver is real. Your rebuttals are brutal. You are pretending that my legitimate MLA cites are from a person who has never fought before. You are right this doctor has never fought before but he had treated some people who have. I gave you a list of symptoms and causes. Also, you are apparently the loud-mouth because you can't seem to remove caps lock. BTWS rupture and break actually mean the same thing. More sources?
@kenfo0 u hv to understand, in fighting u have to sacrifice power in order to land hits on people, the chances of him managing to lay a hit on a well trained fighter with that force would be 0.
obviously he has punched people there before, but with no where near the same force.
@markgeeseblanco If the muscles were flexed then it woulda stopped a great deal of damage. Not flexing abdominal muscles when getting punched is how Houdini died.
that torso was also held in place which would be the equivalant of being agains a brick wall and totally relaxed. However, that punch would fuck up just about anybody.
You guys who are bitching about the test are fucking stupid. The point of the test was to see what would happen if someone who WASN'T PROTECTING THEMSELVES, or EXPECTING the punch. Regardless how the dummy was constructed, nothing changes the fact that Bas punches with 1300lbs of force.
@piratebri I'm not bitching or challenging the fact. Standing against the wall, being relaxed, having your muscles flexed, it donesn't matter, that punch is deadly.
He could more than likely kill someone with one punch.
@hyphoid most boxers have larger power punches not because they have bigger muscles but because they are faster and use the correct allignment for the technique yielding a greater force. You only get power from two things speed and force.
@hyphoid I probably wasn't directing my comment to you. There were a lot of people bitching about the test not being "realistic". I was trying to explain to them that it wasn't a test to see if Bas can break someone's spleen with one punch, it was a test to see how hard Bas Rutten can punch. This series did the same thing with Fedor, to see how much force he can pump into a rear naked choke.
no offense but dont think this experiment is 100% accurate. not very many people in the history of mma or boxing have gotten their spleens broken in fights. if that was a real human being who let bas punch them i highly doubt they would have a broken spleen.
oh this would be 100% accurate if your body consisted of zero muscles, this show never talks about how muscle absorb the impacts. The only thing they got right was grappling and leverage. If this man were to hit your kidney with a punch like that you better believe your fucked. That is why kidney and liver shots are banned in every fighting organization I have ever heard of.
@theriftable Well in competition you rarely get a 100% shot, Bas would not be able to wind up so much in a fight as it telegraphs and is slower. Also he would not get such a clean shot, that is why such injuries don't really show up on competition. It should also be noted that the dummy is mounted on a poll that doesn't move much, a human body would have moved back several times further, thus reducing the power and yes human muscle would also help to absorb the blow. Still, would hurt a lot!
Nice explanation. Some MMA fighters can deliver punches with that much force, but it's just like what sinhaserpente said, it would take an extreme amount of luck with excellent timing to pull of a 100% fully loaded punch straight into your opponents face/gut.
This test is like punching someone thats asleep and completely relaxed so im not suprised their spleen ruptured. A strong, flexed abdominal wall would yield different results.
@markgeeseblanco one could damage pretty much any part of another person's body with less force whilst they were asleep and/or without skin and muscles etc. I would like to see a test in which Bas was to squeeze the hell out of a liver or kidney though. An eye maybe, or rip out a tongue :)
@handuyourass Yep, you're totally right; the difference between a "sucker punch" on relaxed muscles and one against an alert opponent is a big one. That's why sucker punches are so effective.

@bazookataj Really, faggot? That's it? YOU SAID QUOTE: "bas has broken (sic) people's livers". Now you provide information about some guy who is not a fighter, who did not get hit by bas, who had a ruptured liver? AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! run along little boy. you are a disgrace.
kenfo0 7 months ago
@kenfo0 You are a disgrace. How was I talking about a different fighter. Bas has ruptured three livers in his Pancrase career and you are now making up lies. So run along old troll, come up with another riddle and don't drown in your river.
bazookataj 7 months ago
@bazookataj DOES EVERYONE NOTICE THIS DOUCHEBAG KEEPS COPYING WHAT I SAY? you wish you could be smart, but are not. You said QUOTE: "bas broke a guy's liver". After fixing THAT fuckup, you manufacture a reference which equates to "some guy who never fought anyone had a ruptured liver". Then you have the nerve to come back AGAIN and pretend you are correct and a man? You are a stupid, lazy, loud-mouthed jackass. Nothing more you pussy.
kenfo0 7 months ago
@kenfo0 I gave you to reference to a doctor that proved that a ruptured liver is real. Your rebuttals are brutal. You are pretending that my legitimate MLA cites are from a person who has never fought before. You are right this doctor has never fought before but he had treated some people who have. I gave you a list of symptoms and causes. Also, you are apparently the loud-mouth because you can't seem to remove caps lock. BTWS rupture and break actually mean the same thing. More sources?
bazookataj 7 months ago
@kenfo0 ummm actually he had rupture spleens in a fight...get your facts straight.
thcthc 7 months ago
@kenfo0 not spleens.... but he has actually ruptured a liver.
MMAstokke 6 months ago
@kenfo0 u hv to understand, in fighting u have to sacrifice power in order to land hits on people, the chances of him managing to lay a hit on a well trained fighter with that force would be 0.
obviously he has punched people there before, but with no where near the same force.
DefyingGravity1893 6 months ago
@DefyingGravity1893 Its bas fucking rutten. I've whatched many many fights where he lands that same shot on someone in that exact same place.
fuzzyboy501 6 months ago
@markgeeseblanco If the muscles were flexed then it woulda stopped a great deal of damage. Not flexing abdominal muscles when getting punched is how Houdini died.
DuykRuyk 7 months ago
@markgeeseblanco Even a layer of relaxed muscle will disperse the energy more than this thin membranous tissue.

U3X6785 1 year ago 3
yeah its saying that the body would be in a fixed position. And held. But still frightening and maybe even frightening to Bas.
But you punch a drunk guy against a wall and same effect. Scary. I dont like to say it but best defence is get the hell outa there.

that torso was also held in place which would be the equivalant of being agains a brick wall and totally relaxed. However, that punch would fuck up just about anybody.
hyphoid 1 year ago
You guys who are bitching about the test are fucking stupid. The point of the test was to see what would happen if someone who WASN'T PROTECTING THEMSELVES, or EXPECTING the punch. Regardless how the dummy was constructed, nothing changes the fact that Bas punches with 1300lbs of force.
piratebri 1 year ago
@piratebri I'm not bitching or challenging the fact. Standing against the wall, being relaxed, having your muscles flexed, it donesn't matter, that punch is deadly.
He could more than likely kill someone with one punch.
hyphoid 1 year ago
@hyphoid most boxers have larger power punches not because they have bigger muscles but because they are faster and use the correct allignment for the technique yielding a greater force. You only get power from two things speed and force.
awacs52 1 year ago
@hyphoid I probably wasn't directing my comment to you. There were a lot of people bitching about the test not being "realistic". I was trying to explain to them that it wasn't a test to see if Bas can break someone's spleen with one punch, it was a test to see how hard Bas Rutten can punch. This series did the same thing with Fedor, to see how much force he can pump into a rear naked choke.

SpinKicksusplits86 1 year ago
no offense but dont think this experiment is 100% accurate. not very many people in the history of mma or boxing have gotten their spleens broken in fights. if that was a real human being who let bas punch them i highly doubt they would have a broken spleen.
theriftable 2 years ago
@theriftable because trained fighters know to "roll" with the punches
urbansheriff 2 years ago
oh this would be 100% accurate if your body consisted of zero muscles, this show never talks about how muscle absorb the impacts. The only thing they got right was grappling and leverage. If this man were to hit your kidney with a punch like that you better believe your fucked. That is why kidney and liver shots are banned in every fighting organization I have ever heard of.
dgillary 2 years ago
liver shots arent banned in mma.
theriftable 2 years ago 2
im mistaken you are correct and it says you cannot heel the kidneys but I certainly have seen them take points for kidney shots.
dgillary 2 years ago
have you ever watched a mma,k1 fight??? they do it all the time
adpsdw 1 year ago
@theriftable well i dont think they would allow a mma fighter to destroy the insides of his opponment so, these fighters keep their limit.
14jstorm 2 years ago
He already has,hes broken somebodies liver in a fight before.
monksters1 2 years ago 3
@theriftable Well in competition you rarely get a 100% shot, Bas would not be able to wind up so much in a fight as it telegraphs and is slower. Also he would not get such a clean shot, that is why such injuries don't really show up on competition. It should also be noted that the dummy is mounted on a poll that doesn't move much, a human body would have moved back several times further, thus reducing the power and yes human muscle would also help to absorb the blow. Still, would hurt a lot!
sinhaserpente 1 year ago 2
@sinhaserpente
Nice explanation. Some MMA fighters can deliver punches with that much force, but it's just like what sinhaserpente said, it would take an extreme amount of luck with excellent timing to pull of a 100% fully loaded punch straight into your opponents face/gut.
GretzkyTheWonderDog 1 year ago
Pretty sick though :O
Imagine you didnt see that comming :O ...
killer94nl 2 years ago
This test is like punching someone thats asleep and completely relaxed so im not suprised their spleen ruptured. A strong, flexed abdominal wall would yield different results.
handuyourass 2 years ago 15
Yes, you are correct. That was the point of the test - to see how much force was required to rupture a spleen that was unprotected by flexed muscles.
markgeeseblanco 2 years ago 17
@markgeeseblanco ... and without arms in the way to block or cause some interference with Bas' punch
awacs52 1 year ago
@markgeeseblanco I would not take a punch from Bas Rutten, even with my abs flexed hard as a rock. That guy punches as hard as a car accident.
PalleSchultz 1 year ago
@markgeeseblanco one could damage pretty much any part of another person's body with less force whilst they were asleep and/or without skin and muscles etc. I would like to see a test in which Bas was to squeeze the hell out of a liver or kidney though. An eye maybe, or rip out a tongue :)
blueingreentrain 1 year ago
@blueingreentrain hes probly done it already lol hes naturally violent..
REIGNTERROR88 1 year ago
@handuyourass would also be different if the "person" were to have to backed up as soon as the punch impacted him
jezeus420 1 year ago
@handuyourass Yep, you're totally right; the difference between a "sucker punch" on relaxed muscles and one against an alert opponent is a big one. That's why sucker punches are so effective.
Still, Bas' punch is fucking sick.
SecretTechniqueGuy 1 year ago
@handuyourass Tell that to Jason DeLucia... a trained MMA fighter who got his liver broke by Bas back in the 90ies.
