  • where is the car sound? leave the music out please

  • I love your suburban. I know where there is one that isn't finished. But it looks great. I will contact the owner this week and find out much it is.

  • i love the Panel!! Nice look

  • nice engine sound!!! sick ride

  • man that is nice ,now sharpen that front bumper ,and you can cut the grass

  • Love the 53! i just got a '50 and would love to learn more about your build (i.e. whose Mustang II did you install, what type of wiring did you use, what size tires are you running (my wheels are 6 lug 16")

    Thanks for the advice

  • @JT92533 Thanks! Its a fatman fabrications mustang II kit. I also went with 2-inch drop spindles. I got a generic 21 circuit wiring kit from speedway motors (cheapest kit I could find), it worked great and had all the wires labeled. However, it didn't come with very good instructions, but I found some instructions online for an ez-wire kit and just used those. Rear-end is sitting on tci 6-inch drop springs and 3inch lowering blocks. It I did it again though I would probably go with a 4-bar

  • @philkmil kit, as I have seen those for about 450 bucks for these trucks. The rearend was a swapmeet find and I think it is out a a 66 fairlane. It didn't need to be shortened at all, but I had to widen the inner fenders (could probably have run wheels with different backspacing instead). The rear wheels are uni-lug wheels that I bought off of a friend. They're 10 inches wide. I had some mathcing 8-inch ones in the front, but didn't have a enough turning clearance, so went with some

  • @philkmil 6-inch ford wrecking yard wheels instead.

  • @philkmil also, if you're going to have yours be this low you're going to need to replace the original gas tank. I used an s-10 tank in the rear. Though if I could do it over I would use something a little more low-profile.

  • @philkmil Thanks for the advice. I am planning the build for the '50 now. I'm thinking of a bolt in MII from Chassis Engineering and lowering leafs in back. Can I ask what column & seats did you use and how low does the bumper come off of the ground. I think my currrently measures at 11" in the front. Also, do you have 15 or 16" wheels.

  • @JT92533 the column is out of a late 70s/early 80s chevy van. The seats are out of a mid 90s ford aerostar (got the whole set and seat belts for 25 bucks, so couldn't go wrong there). I've done some modifications to the seats that I may add pictures or some time. No sure about the front bumper and the wheels. The burb is snowed in right, now, so I can't get at it to measure. I've modified the bumper since I took this video too, I'd estimate that it was about 8 inches off the ground before.

  • @philkmil The wheels are 15s

  • 1:30 Dad chasing you down screaming "Hey bring my damn truck back!!!" -lol

  • Kick ass video and music! I love the rough "fresh-from-the-barn" look it has! One wild mod would be a suicide 4 door look but it would take some creative metal work. Amazing looking ride....post more vids (with awesome tunes)!

  • you should chop it i got a 53 5 windo truck in the prosses

  • Great ride! Great video & music. Keep making videos. Rich

  • almost 3 entire summers of working on it about 5 days a week. If was my first hot rod project, so it was a little slow going at first.

  • Nice rat rod! 5*

  • thanks for getting back to me about the seats.. yea i am interested in the seats... how much would u ask for them and would have an idea of how much it would cost to ship to los angeles,ca.....

  • That's wicked sweet..

  • I watch rat rod clips all the time and thats just about the coolest thing Ive seen. I had one of those old panel trucks when i was in high school. thanks for the memories!

  • hey whats up nice suburban.... you wouldnt happen to have the old original seats from it ?????

  • I have the original front seat with the jumper seat, but not the back two seats. Probably not what you're looking for, but let me know if you're interested.

  • cool, I'm just glad to see it on the road and you enjoying it. I hope to get mine roadworthy by summertime. I don't plan to have shiny paint on it anytime soon either. I just want to have the same fun you are having lol.

  • nice! you gonna finish it?

  • have a little more mechanical work to get it truly road-worthy. Once I do that I'll probably just finish putting in all the glass, finish the interior, and then drive it as-is for a few years. I still have a few more body-mods that I want to do too. I'm going to shorten and suck-in the front bumper like i did with the rear and I also have some ideas for modifications for the grill and headlights. Other that that I kind of like it how it is. I like the mean ratty look.

  • Some day down the road I may do some body work and make it "shiny." But I don't have any intension to do that any time soon. Bodywork just seems a little too tedious and mind-dulling at this point.
