ahh! this man is amazing! did u all hear what he said? the bible is a collection of stories written over a time period by DIFFERENT authors. dats why the gospels, at times, contradict each other. some of the things in there applied to a particular community and lifestyle, not necessarily. it was not meant to be taken literally as a whole.

He goes on to say orientation is about love, world views, committment and he goes on. I believe ones "orientation" is determined by who you sleep with. I was not saying that homosexuality is a choice!

So, let's say you're a guy (I have not idea and don 't care), and you find yourself in bed with another guy. I agree with disneylandman. I, too, am impressed and moved by Jim Swilley and Debye, too. Jim, as a psychotherapist with a counseling ministry, I applaud you and Debye for living authentic lives. How freeing it must feel, regardless of any backlash. It's a pleasure to hear your explanation of the scriptures regarding slaves, fat people and the unemployed! You are so enlightened. A job of clergy consists of persuading people to follow Christ. It becomes easier to tell others to say that being Gay isn't about sex if you operate in this authoritative capacity. A governing body should question this influence administered over parishers without evidence to support other than a few letters from supporters. Watering down the facts about an alternative lifestyle can be very confusing and misunderstood in a place where people come to find the way.

Although I feel any religion is proven dangerous, at least-unlike so many other-pastors & church leaders-he's honest! not the usual hypocrite. Gay isn't just about sexualness either-it's who you are fundamentally-body, mind & soul. People want to tell God what he did, or attempt to create HIm in their own image-according to the bible, or mans image-such as Jesus etc. God created diversity within the universe. Homosexuality is observed in Nature. Gays will always be a special part of that design.

Maybe Jesus was actually gay. I'm pretty sure every other biblical hero has been recorded to have had sex (in several cases, outside of marriage, which is actually forbidden in the ten commandments but HEY picking and choosing Bible passages is what a good Christian does).
