How long did you drive it with the oil pressure on zero? Fix the lines and see how it sounds before you pull the pan. Looks like you still need a new radiator for the blazer. Have the one from mix match flushed and use it. I think last time I had a radiator flushed it was $35.
I'm from GA and don't understand the whole snowplow thing. Do you plow the road as a public service out of the kindness of your heart or what? They don't have government plows that do this?
c wild I wouldn't plow in low range it's not meant for that. My uncle owns a garage and in the winter he gets tons of guys in there wit blown transfer cases because they were plowin in low range use high range for plowing
At less you still have a truck I don't have one any more because of a truck wreck I have video of the damage!!!!!! So in the end is not so bad to have a bad motor
I'd say put some good oil in that ole 6.5, with a new filter and a couple of quarts of lucas oil stabilizer. Perhaps she'll run, but might bang pretty good. You could run her till the crank snaps, or put bearings in it machine the crank, new rods, etc. fun fun. good luck. -jim-

Low range makes it easier on the operator, just idle around.

Maybe the 4.56's from the Jummy would helpi
CORVAIRWILD 2 years ago
Really??? I never EVER had a prob with the POS plow. Why the heck would it break???
CORVAIRWILD 2 years ago
I think the guy is blowin steam.
L is not any worse for a transfercase than H
And year put ze 4.56's and 3/4 ton axles into the blazer!!! talk about a creeper for plowing, 4l0 + 700r4 1st gear = nowhere!

If I were listening to Barack Obama's speech, stuck in a car in snow, I'd just shoot myself.

CORVAIRWILD 2 years ago
LOL Whoever is not dead slumped over their steering wheel with Barack Obama on their stereo.

Put tar cleaner on your tires, it will make all the difference in snow. They will clean the snow out of themselves better and be grippier.
saebbi 2 years ago
Tar cleaner??? I'm gonna put a SLAB a steel of marble or granite in d a Blaze
CORVAIRWILD 2 years ago
Tar builds up on the rubber during the summer and whenever you drive on clear tarmac. -Tar is extremely slippery against snow or ice.
Try it and believe it.

I think I'll wait till spring, pull the pan, maybe the crank is salvageable, or who knows... Two miles uphill... and it was smoking to start with
CORVAIRWILD 2 years ago
You should get the green truck on the Road, and don't let he who must not be named drive it!!!!
orbitofdoom16 2 years ago
Maybe I should put new oil lines on it, a common GM prob...
CORVAIRWILD 2 years ago
Ehh, Never had any problems with the oil lines on the 6.5 we have(Beating on wood). Only has 110,000 on it though
