  • Yeah, Every job application I have seen for many years asks if you have even been diagnosed with depression. If a doctor prescribes an antodepresant then that is it! So, it is better to never get the meds for it if you ever want to get a decent job again. The jobs that don't ask or don't care are jobs so bad no one wants them so they can not be picky. You are gorgious and female so you can get jobs that ugly males like me can't get. Anyway, good luck !

  • When I went to Navy Bootcamp in Orlando many many decades ago we stood on the grinder in the hot sun at parade rest many times for so long a dozzen recruits would pass out of heat exhaustion. We were punished together but most often individualy. One thousand jumping jack or one hundred pushups were common. Blowing a piece of lint around the grinder was hard. The sand pit was crazy hard and messy on or barracks. Navy bootcamp is a breeze these days!

  • What a joke. Navy boot camp today with women. Real tough. lol Friigin summer camp

  • love it...i caught the tail end of this era

  • damn...i went to RTC in 1994...now I feel OLD! LOL!

  • Salute the TURTLE!!!!!!

  • They should have saved the stall divider walls the heads in the processing, classroom, medical and SEPS holding tank USS Nautilus(?) buildings. Some the grafitti/tags on them dated back years. History died if they were not saved and put in mueseum or something. You posters said that they tore down everything, did they tear down the SEPS holding tank building right near the receiving? We called it Heartbreak Hotel and the washout tank.

  • They should have saved the stall dividers from the classroom building and processing building heads, some of the grafitti/tags dated back years, history died with them, including my tag dated 10-3-1997.

  • Brings back a memory or two, Too bad they don't have any stuff from Orlando RTC. C122, summer of '84.

  • DUNGAREES!!!

  • its pirate school as seen on spunge bob... yarg matey!!!.

  • Do ye get walk the plank and hunt fer pirate gold ..yargh matey!!

  • @willobi Absolutely!! Thats what the Navy is all about.

  • @willobi lol WTF?

  • @willobi LMAO!!!

  • 2 most memorable quotes from bootcamp: #1 (from shipmate) "Petty officer, can we straggle?"

#2 (from Petty officer to shipmate) "Are you good at anything besides homosexuality?"

  • C105 Orlando, 1987. Can't believe I remember my company number after all these years. The vid brings back memories but we didn't have canteens/water bottles, just water breaks.

  • 2001 eh" I was division 301 in 2001. I've heard they have destroyed all of the buildings we served in.

  • @pathos1983 i was in division 040 in 2001. yeah, they tore down everything except in-processing, gun range, marlinspike, and medical.

  • @msglover78

msglover, I was in division 905 in 2001. We were there at the same time.

  • Wait, we had choppers back then? lol, I thought this was going to be a really old video. I joined the Marines in 2001 myself. I love you squids, Semper Fidelis.

  • "PT is not used for punishment or harrassment" LOL LIES!

  • @kinnysama remembering the cycles lol

  • Co.123 Division 5 San Diego, 1983, looks like they got it made nowadays, Thanks to all that have served and to those serving today.

  • Wow, I joined in 2000 and I'm pretty sure my recruiter showed me this very video... Brings back memories. I hear a lot has changed at boot / great lakes... I hear they tore down all the old ships, rebuilt them and even shortened boot to 8 weeks. Anyone on here go through boot camp recently??

  • I went through in '01. Boot was 8 weeks + about a week of "P Days" (processing days)

  • @QM183 8 weeks! Really?...wow

  • graduated great lakes November 1986 company 339...color company. Chief Holt...he was badass. anyone else from 339...message me.

  • Does anyone know the graduation rate at this bootcamp? The guess is 90% or more.

  • Man this brings back memories... Division 392, graduated 08 OCT 1999.

  • i laughted when the guy said "easy day" i heard that so much in boot camp. went to the old boot camp back in 2001.

  • I think boot camp wasmuchmore physical and difficult in the 60s. I was at Great Lakes. Many good memories though! Go Navy!

  • Orlando, Sept 1982 for me..was a bit different then this video, we didnt wear sneakers except for PT..Marching was done with boondockers only, no baseball caps, dixiecups!

  • I could'nt stand bootcamp,I went to San Diego bootcamp in 88' .

  • i think my dad did also

  • must become Navy SEAL

  • Hell yea

  • I went through boot in 1969. Quite a bit different than this video. Same concept. However I assure you the DI's were more old school than this video shows. They actually punched a few laggards. Heh! Heh!

  • Wow, this isn't lying when it says "Old" Navy bootcamp

  • I lawled at "PT is not used as punishment."

  • 1:10...This is a co-ed company, or they call them divisions now I guess. Nothing against the women sailors, but as late as 1990, co-ed training groups were not possible. Age progression: makes me feel old when the DCP's (CC's) start looking closer to my own age. And this vid is 8 or 9 yrs. old. Does Great Lakes have the 51 push-up requirement at PT 2 like Orlando had back when? Anyone know? Interesting take (vid) on modern boot camp. For me, a blurred memory now. Regards.

  • six year vet.FC5 this is pretty close to actually what happens in boot. Change your life and begin a career. I got the big throphy in boot camp. check out my vid
