  • I hear you say fancy shit when you were shaping the dough

  • Hello there, I just found this video. I want to say that I am an avid bread baker, and I am always happy when I hear about others enjoying and appreciating bread. I definitely agree with you that there is nothing like freshly baked bread.. And I can see how these rolls just melt. They have a wonderfully soft crumb, and beautiful contrast of browning . Thank you for sharing the recipe, and your love of bread with others. :)

  • What kind of flour..did you use? They have so many flours. Bread flour or multi purpose flour, etc..

  • The bread looks beautiful!

  • Thanks Chef.. i have to thank you for all your videos, they are real and easy and no matter what anyone says we all look at your videos and use it in the kitchen and I have to say they come out so well. So easy and simple! Thanks a ton! I watch alot of shows, but I have to say that in terms of real execution..yours is the best. Moreso because the ingredients are so easy to find and you never use 'frozen pasta sheets' or anything else! Thanks a ton! God Bless!

  • How much of the melted butter? LOL!

  • his using a paint brush for the egg wash :D

  • v.good

  • You do know he's saying shape, not shit! :)

  • How long do you bake the bread for???

  • i never knew it took 1 hour and 47 minutes to make just the DOUGH.... uugghhh i though bread was a fast thing to make =( lol still, good knowledge

  • you can do any fancy shit you want LOL

  • what does he say at 0:58? To this, add meldded budda?

  • Don't give up your day job!!

  • @3:49

Vahchef: "you can make any fancy shapes you want"

Me: Hmm I've made the on the far left before, but it sure wasn't a bread roll :)

  • I'm using fast rising dry yeast... Do I do anything differently? :s

  • He looks like Wisnu, my uncle!

  • What kind of Flour was used? My dough is not rising the way VAH CHef's is. Even after one hour. It would help if someone could answer that question. THANK YOU!

  • @mswhitetopaz maybe your yeast is old and not working anymore.. that's the one that makes the dough rise...

  • This dude is great :)

    Keep going man!

  • I love this recipe! Its very similar to something that I've been making myself. I also like the way that you shape the rolls in the end.

  • thank you i will do it today :)

  • Wow,talented and fun- a lot of people have bread videos on you tube, but I like that he can clearly instruct and not be so serious.

  • I luv your recipies keep them comimg my mother luvs your food I make from these thank you so very much on a scale of 1-10 your a 15 bless you sir

  • My mom is makeing this right now!!!!!

  • Thank you, Sanjay for another simple and easy recipe. For the uninitiated, bread making is like an impossible skill. You make it so simple. thank you.

  • Add a couple of tins of tuna and 3 cans of chopped tomato to this recipe before baking. Delicious!

  • i <3 your recipes

  • omg I am SO trying this. I've never made bread before... hope it will turn out ok. XD

  • i love this video thank you very much...my friend asalecu asalam

  • i am not so sure about adding the butter to the dough. whats the time and temperature of cooking ths? is 180 for 15-20 mins good enough?

  • you can do any fancy shit you want... :D...and your pronunciation of flour is nice :D

  • I loved Vah-Chef Sanjay Thumma! He is so enthusiastic and talented. He makes it look so easy and certainly delicious! Can't wait to write down everything and try doing this. What a help! I love pumpkin. Would love to know what dish he makes with the pumpkin that goes inside his beautiful rolls. Such impressive bread rolls. Youtube provides so much constructive help for people free. A true gift to educate and enlighten. Thank you to all involved in making this possible!

  • I did't and it was perfect ,but I added one tsp of baking powder to the flour and it was excelent :))

  • I want to make these rolls, but he doesn't say how much melted butter to use. Does anyone know?

  • @windsong3719 Looks like he used 1/4 a cup of melted butter. I also checked a few recipes and that seems to be the norm.

  • Awesome(:

  • I made these, and they didn't turn out right... they ended up being very dense and tough. Anybody have any tips what I did wrong? I want to make about 50 or so of these for Thanksgiving.

  • @Mac1634 I have been reading around and I understand that the amount of flour has been effecting people as well as how fresh the yeast is. Make sure it is fresh and foams when introduced to the milk and sugar. Add flour until you visually see the dough looks as it should. When rolling the rolls be careful to use very little flour. Also, be extremely gentle as handling it too much causes toughness. Good luck! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • @Mac1634 I made them once, and they were CHEWY, I figured out that I had needed them to much. The more you mess with the dough, the tougher it becomes. Next time, literally just knead until the dough comes together. I beat the hell out of mine the first time...not such a great idea lol. Good luck!

  • Very Great Informational Video, Yummy too...

  • Thank you! I just made these. Really simple and very yummy.

  • whats wrong with your website?? KEEPS going to a casino sight..

  • Yummy!

  • thank you sir and God bless

  • i like this

  • 220 deg celcius but how much time?

  • These rolls look delicious but they did not work for me there was not enough liquids just wondering if there written. Instructions anywhere so I can make sure I heard right?!

  • I love ur channel!!

  • You need to stop eating the stuff you make. It makes me envious!

  • @gsards Just every 5 or so min pock it with a toothpick to see if its not done

  • good bread

  • i like very much vah reh vah.com sanjay thumma showing recipies in simple method. and all recipies are very common in andhra pradesh. thanku ver =y much

  • I subscribed to your videos. The camera angels really let me see exactly how you are doing something. You are so pleasant to watch & listen too! Only one complaint, sorry, some of the amounts of the ingredients i.e. salt, and type of flour you are using was not made clear. I am a first time bread maker. It might be obvious to other cooks but I could use specifics. Love the videos!

  • if you just make a normal bread shape out of this dough will it come out the same? as soft and fluffy?

  • @amnder2009 No, these are dinner rolls.

  • thank you come again

  • I learned it from a trained chef, how ever it took me several attempts till I got some thing called bread-like, but with your technique, now I make not just bread but good looking and in-fact bakery quality bread.

  • haha we're not gonna knead it...we're just going to punch it :P

  • and I promised to make these for thanksgiving...HELP!

  • @kathieh9 me too! i hope they come out good. im gonna do a trial this weekend

  • mine turned out like biscuits definitely not soft and fluffy:(

  • just in case anyone was wondering what kind of yeast to use, i used 1 packet of "Fleischmann's" Active Dry Yeast (7g) you can purchase about 3 packets from the grocery store for about $2.50. In CALIFORNIA that is. lol

  • i just got done using this method and it works great! the rolls came out very soft in the middle and had the same golden brown color. I kept my rolls in for 16mins at 425F. instead of the egg wash method i used a very small amount of vegetable oil, but it works the same. the only thing i had trouble with was forming the rolls like you did, mine came out looking like biscuts, but all in all they tasted fantastic!! thank you so much for this video! it was a huge help and i will always use it

  • Is it me or does that look like more than one cup of milk?

  • Thanks ! i learned a lot!

  • How long do you bake them for??

  • instead of egg u told to use some moisture , what kind of things come under moisture in this case and does it come like the same bun u did?

  • 15 min

  • how long should they stay in the oven for?

  • I enjoy your videos but on Youtube now you can add your written recipes here above at the "Link Section" which is the better way for us to Read, Copy & Paste. This way we don't have to go back & forth in the video to try to write the recipes which is very time consuming and not really practical.

    Thanks.

  • wow! so nice!

  • thank u

    i cant wait to try

    u r wonderful : ) for sharing

  • what is the first ingredient??

  • @yekalu312 yeast

  • @niemann2006 ...thank u :)

  • at the end of every video he seems to genuinely enjoy the food. that makes me want to try it.

  • wallaikum

  • I think you mean 1.5 TEAspoons of salt. 1.5 tablespoons makes some salty bread!

  • i love your recipes, vahchef. I speak telugu too! I'm a 13 year old girl. But with no offence, I would like to state that your english is awful. PLEASE make videos in the language you know - Telugu. If you don't like telugu, and feel embarrassed to speak in your mother tongue, learn proper english at least!

  • @irene201mai hi there! Im sorry if I hurt your feelings, but you've hurt mine. I didn't mean to scold him or anything. I just tried to help him. And please don't use foul language while referring to young people like me. I don't find anything wrong in the sentence you mentioned. I'm not an erroneous brat, nor a stupid fool. But if you think so, I apologize that I made you do so. If you reply to this comment using foul language, with no offense, I will block AND report you.

  • @aditi1998 Just go ahead and report me baby, block me if you feel like, then I'll report all the unkind ways of correcting people and the foul languages you use in your comments that you don't count to be bad.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings too, but it is unfair when you make those who teach for free to feel bad and stop sharing their knowlwdge as a result of correcting them unkindly instead of sending private messages to them or making a better video for the world

  • @irene201mai It's okay :) And yes, ^SORRY SANJAY IF I HURT YOUR FEELINGS^

  • @irene201mai agreed

  • One grammar correction, vahchef: Whenever you start your recipe, you always start with 'Add something' That is WRONG! Add the first ingredient to what? If it the first thing we put in a bowl/utensil/pan/container, we don't ADD it to anything. We just put it in whatever we are putting the first ingredient in. You can say something like 'Let's start with' or 'Put' If you actually saw this comment, please correct the mistake you do in all your videos. Thanks for the videos! Im 13, a telugu girl!

  • @aditi1998 Foolish little girl, why dont you get yourself busy with your school home work rather than play around online, looking for who to correct. He is old enough to be your grandfather and is doing a great job earning his living by doing what he knows best, but you,... You still have a long way to go.

Stupid fool, get your ass off the internet, you erroneous brat. You said "please correct the mistake(?) you do in all your videos". CORRECTION, YOU DO NOT DO MISTAKE, YOU MAKE MISTAKES.

  • how many minutes in the oven??

  • @mrkjshjavier On the website it says. Preheat the oven for 425F/220C bake for 15-20 till golden brown colour.

once it is done then apply butter on top of it.

  • I saw this written recipe and I wasn't sure exactly how to follow certain steps, like how to tell when the dough looks ready for each new step, but this video was very informative. I plan on making these very soon :)

  • Can you put any kind of yeast?

  • @MegaToto09 yes

  • @vahchef I have a regular stove gas powered. Will that work if yes at what temperature should i preheat and cook. Thanks.

  • @lilora70 you left out 1 1/2 tbsp. salt

  • @djbhey Probly a little more water in your dough and more rise time. Make sure that when you are kneading your dough you dont push out all the air. Its been said that a baker needs "An iron hand in a velvet glove". Give it some more practice and you will get it. I had to make a dozen batches or so to start getting it right. A great resource is thefreshloaf(dot)com TONS of good stuff there.

  • жрать захотелось пасибо за видео =)

  • Wow Im hungry now. Your awesome. You explain so perfectly and I love your recipe. Thank you!!!

  • I barely can understand this. .

  • Tankuoy very mach

  • Just to let you know, I tried your recipe and was successful! I have never had a recipe turn out so well. Your technique of not kneading, but forming the small loaves, was essential. I have been doing things wrong! I love your site! Thank you sooooo much for putting this up!

  • Just to let you know, I tried your recipe and was successful! I have never had a recipe turn out so well. Your technique of not kneading, but forming the small loaves, was essential. I have been doing things wrong! I love your site! Thank you sooooo much for putting this up!

  • Great!

  • 3:56. Poop alert!

  • With floured hands, pinched off rolls as per video. Used canola oil on cookie sheet. Covered with warm, wet dish cloth and let rise for 30 minutes. I used 1 additional egg + 1/4 C water for the egg wash right before baking. Baked at 425°F for 15 minutes. They DID seem hard at first, but quickly softened up. Might adjust baking time to 11-12 minutes next time.

Next time I may add a little sugar to the flour, or honey to the eggs/butter for a little more flavor. But they were excellent!

  • I let the yeast/milk/sugar proof for 10 minutes, whisked the egg/butter in a separate bowl and then slowly whisked it into the yeast mixture. Then I slowly poured all of that into the flour - pour/mix/pour/mix/pour/mix.

Kneaded the dough for 10 minutes, then brushed with a little oil & let rise for 1 1/4 hour under a warm, wet dish cloth. Punched down - no additional kneading - let rest 10 minutes.

    More info in next comment...

  • I wanted to add some info since people seem confused by contradictions in the video compared to the recipe posted on the chef's site. I made these tonight, and they came out wonderfully. I am probably going to have to do this in more than one reply, so bear with me.

    Quantities I used:

    4 C All-purpose Flour

    4 Tbl Butter

    2 Eggs

    1 C Milk @ 110°F

    1 tsp Salt

    2 tsp Sugar

2 tsp Active Dry Yeast - the kind you get in a row of little pouches.

    More info in next comment...
