  • if you think about it, the engine on that is not very efficient. it is a twin turbo v10. and it's only putting out 600 whp. the corvette zr1 puts out 638 whp and it's a stock supercharged v8.

  • @chuckman101 Hey Chuck, thanks for the comment. First of all I'd like to say that this wasn't the final file, the final file was able to make 620 whp which equates to about 780 crank horsepower. Second of all, the Mustang dyno has been known to be conservative in terms of numbers. Third, I looked up the ZR1, nice car, but the 638 horsepower is estimated at the CRANK (SAE-certified).

  • @llRetrospect ok first this r8 has the same engine as the gallardo and it has a twin turbo right well how come its getting 780 hp yet when you put a twin turbo in a gallardo you get 1000+ hp

  • @triplex4286 If you actually took the time to read the links that I provided in the description, you will see that this only the first stage or "power package" and that later will develop packages capable of 1000+ hp. I understand that it is the same engine, but again, it does not seem like you understand the purpose of the LeMans 780. The LeMans 780 is designed to be DAILY DRIVABLE. Cars aiming for high dyno numbers is unrealistic and undrivable. This one has power when you need it.

  • @chuckman101 Lol, I know you aren't it's no problem. When I saw the ZR-1 I was amazed by how aggressive it looked. I'm sure it sounds awesome cause I've heard a Stage 3 Z06 and that thing sounded monstrous.

  • @chuckman101 Fourth, the ZR1 has 1 more liter of displacement than the R8, that may say something as well. Lastly, the GMG LeMans 780 package was designed to still be a daily driveable car. Aiming high numbers just for the dyno is unrealistic and undriveable.

  • It might only be putting out 600whp but it's powerband has to be much greater in length than the ZR1's. Not only that, it's a 10 cylinder, so it's far smoother in every aspect.

  • @tronxo206 That's cool man. The 600 horsepower is at the WHEELS. Considering the Mustang dyno is very conservative in terms of numbers plus the 10-15% drivetrain loss, you're getting about 780 crank horsepower. And I looked at Heffner Performances' page.. they're listing their V10 twin turbo package at 850 crank horsepower.. not 1000. Plus higher horsepower numbers just to get high numbers is unrealistic. The GMG LeMans 780 package is designed to be daily drivable.

  • gangstaweezy, stasis v10 r8 supercharged is 710 crank hp. Not to the wheels.

  • @krvillotti Actually yeah, you're right. If both of you check out the video of the GMG Le Mans 780 (info in video description), the released file with the package makes about 640 whp which "equates to about 780 crank horsepower).

  • shit thats so sick haha, my dads got an R8 to but all he has is the stasis exhaust, stasis ECU chip and stasis intake manifold and its the 4.2L, next year hes trading it in for a 5.2 and putting the stasis supercharger on it, its supposed to be 710 hp at the wheels !

  • @gangstaweezy13 Stock of course is naturally aspirated but there are 2 huge turbos to accompany the 5.2L engine. So it makes it almost 800 HP at the crank.
