Regardless of the truth behind the scenes regarding Jack/Karen/Alison/Meg and whoever elses name you want to throw in, the sexual tension between Jack and Alison is what makes this such a great performance, ditto with Meg, though that had other levels to it considering we all knew they were a divorced couple.
nah the mic thing with the two of them is definitely for show. Bands in the 60s would often have 2 people singing into one mic, and they had to get awkwardly close. The Dead Weather is going for that old 60s/70s feel so they thought that would be pretty cool. They went with the two basically kissing to strike up debates like this. They do it every time they play the song and obviously its working.
I love this performance. I also love how every time they play this song, you can tell how much they want to fuck. Although I doubt it would ever come to fruition (with Jack being a married father, and all) I feel like Jack and Allison's sexual tension is very interesting on stage. Almost as interesting as watching Jack being still painfully in love with Meg with the White Stripes.
i think your getting a little ahead of yourself. There is certainly sexual tension...but i doubt he still loves Meg. And if he does it isn't in a romantic way
Sure he does. If you have ever been in love, if you've ever fallen for an older woman, and if you understand how to read musical chemistry, it's plain to the eye. >>con'td
I'm not saying that he isn't in love with Karen Elson, but when you have a relationship like he did with Meg and you have to pour your soul into a collision with that person's soul almost every night..let me put it this way: he's obviously married to and happy with Karen Elson, but that doesn't mean Meg White isn't his soul's most suited companion. The fact that the two of them put on a stunning two man show that mostly held in a higher regard than any of his other two bands is evidence of that.
she reminds me of that typa chick that after you fuck her once she'd smoke like 2 or 3 cigs then turn to you and say..."ok ready to go?" hahahaha XD
