  • Wow, brilliant. A lot of noise.

  • Hey fans of great guitar music, be sure to check out CatClemonsOfficial for some killer tunes! Comment and subscribe! Would love to hear from all you guitar players, thanks for the support!

    -Cat

  • Wow, that guitar loop and guitar tone reminds me so much of his sound on DIscipline with King Crimson

  • adrian is the best.

  • Nice Fly.

  • I like AB but he looks like Lewis Skolnick in this vid.

  • this is the guy from iron maiden isnt it

  • @laiholapso You are fucking kidding me right?

  • @laiholapso Nope. King Crimson. Back in the day.

  • I think Adrian should shave his head now.... It would suit him better, I think ;) Who is with me ? - You rock man!! Saw you in Toronto Massey Hall - loved it !

  • @robdrums69

He had it short in the back in 2000. It looked cool. It's ok when it's tied back like a samurai, but he is too cool a cat to have it flopping around the way it is now. ADRIAN ROCKS!!! GUITAR GOD

  • gosh i love this song

by the way Dudes, just fund some great stuff on youtube, and i've GOT the share the info

a band call lizZard, THIS IS some new and impressive stuff, i guess from the Same Planet as TOOL is from....

    take a look on youtube:

    LizZard The Orbiter

  • This sounds like a sci-fi soundtrack. Cool!

  • Love how Adrian makes a lackluster amp sound decent.

  • He looks as happy as he can be, it's interesting for sure.

  • he looks like my greengrocer..

  • Yuk. Abysmal tone.

  • talking about music is like whistling about chickens

  • @megavolt....it's the other way around!

  • @coinundrumdw what? Fripp is amazing.

they're both good anyway, when combined they're deadly

  • Adrian is only good when he is tempered by music theory. He is useless without Fripp

  • @megavolt120

    dumbest statement i've ever heard

i award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul

  • @megavolt120 - OK, then explain Frank Zappa, Talking Heads, The Bears, and his entire solo recorded output..I love Fripp to death, but son, your completely clueless

  • @megavolt120 This is a bogus statement. Fripp wasn't even the one that made Adrian what he is. Adrian gives tons of credit to Frank Zappa. He even refers to his time with him as a "crash course in music theory". Adrian is was fine before King Crimson, and solo while without King Crimson, and always be be great without Fripp. His music with King Crimson is amazing, but if anything it is because of him and Fripp. Fripp was never surrounded by horrible musicians. All KC is good, but it wouldn't

  • @megavolt120 have been if Fripp was the only good musician in the band. Adrian came in with his own sound already.

  • sounds like fripp on islands

  • Music is a science, and this guy is a mad scientist of guitar,

who loves his work, and you can feel it from the very first few

notes... more he plays, it feels more better...

  • Is this "The Dying Guitar"? :-)

  • What a Blast! Music on another level! Adrien is so mellow, and creative, the world needs more of this!

  • like someone said a few comments back

he is the 21st century frippertronics man haha

    love it

  • My favourite guitarist, now that Dimebag is gone. Rock on

  • If Adrian were to be more cool than that, the guitar would freeze.

  • hahahaha looks like andy off little britain. no offence lol. just the head though. great playing all the same.

  • @MrFraser455 Holy crap you're right.

  • Whatever Works !

  • he looks like a mad scientist now

  • @josephgfowler All these years working with Fripp & Co. probably drove him mad.

  • Awesome- the Mad Hatter in his realm.

  • Adrian je uvijek bio žešće opaljen u lobanju. maestro spontane disharmonije i raspada moždanih ćelija na nestabilne note. Odličan !

  • Well I guess my theory still holds true , always shut up and obey the bald guitarist.

Failure to do this will result in catastropic universal sub atomic collaps.

  • EXCELLENT JOB !!

That's not as easy as it might look.

Looks like a nice bloke too.

  • sounds kinda like adam jones learned some stuff from this guy, i wish i was this creative and versitile with my guitar

  • cool demo.

he used to be handsome though

  • Simply great!!

  • this is awesome - check out his smile -a one man guitar army and he builds it while we watch

  • Do you realy need a Parker to do this?... This "music" is much too ... umm.. space.... for me

  • @FUNKTHEMALL "too space" for you?, It's a shame you can't see me raising my eyebrow while reading your comment....

  • He can beat Fripp at his own game.

  • hmmm...beat fripp?

nobody can. Difficult to beat someone at the game he created.

Adrian Belew is more versatile, but beating fripp...ufff

  • @turntapzap Actually he can´t.... he is fripp´s student not teacher.

But I know what you tried to say

  • @turntapzap fripp would beat him in his own technique but not at versatility or range. belew can do anything.

  • He's demonstrating some cool looping techniques. It's nothing more or less than that.

  • Well NOW I know one of the causes of hair loss.... JESUS that was annoying!

  • @BoIivarDan Riiiiiiiiight over your head.

  • I am not crazy about the amp but Mr. Belew's haircut and glasses totally rule!

  • I like the fuzzy headphones...lol.

  • Just noodling and havin' fun ... mr. music head

  • i feel sick

  • i didn't know chey chase could play the guitar!

  • I say this with affection, and as a fan.... he needs to shave it all off, that hair distracts me lol.

  • belew's face at 2:05..... :-)) wow!!!!

  • @BOTCHMAKEMYFUNKYPFUN HAHAHAHAHA! I know right? :P face of a genius.

  • Yuck distortion. I never really liked line 6 distortion but don't let me put you off. Thats just my opinion. Brilliant looping and love the music and my god is he happy!

  • @Meta1Head91 I dont like the distortion either. I use a couple of external boxes for my distortion. But, I do like the delay and soem of the other effects, and the clean is very nice for both rock and jazzy tones.

  • thats the most terrible thing i have ever heard

  • @polysporin10

    youre such a noob

  • PLay City of tiny lights

  • Damn I love his smile. He's such a NICE guy. On stage he never stops smiling.

  • Very cool. Starts strange, but once it repeats and the new line is added, it groooows and groooows. Very cool. Different take on looping sounds. Usually people do one pattern and jam over it. This is pretty different as he keeps adding and adding. Also the guitar sounds almost synthy that way. Tangerine-Dream-like almost.

  • i dont know what some of these people r saying i think it sounds almost beautiful in a way like the part at 1:24 and the rest of the jamn, just sounds so unique in a good way

  • How uncondesending of this genius to try out an affordable device for any guitarist ...God bless him...

  • how can i get that cool hairstyle?

  • Pump testosterone into your bones

  • GREAT!

  • thats not music

  • @suuNify it's more music than that computerized dance junk you hear nowadays.

  • 21st Century Frippertronics Man

  • experimental metal and rock are supposed to be "different", otherwise, what the fuck would you call it "experimental"? this is music for people who are tired of the everthesame soundings of the usual stuff...

  • Initially, I thought this was one of StS's "Shreds" in disguise.

Yeah, Belew's apparently not for everybody.

  • Is this supposed to be music???? Shit, I must be getting old myself - this just sounds like tuneless drivel to me!!!!

  • @ScrumptiousStrat My dad is 5 years older than you and he's the one who introduced me to Adrian Belew. Try listening to it again, but think about the notes he chooses, and how they harmonize with each other. That's where his true genius lies. Oh, and back off the repeated punctuation, it's kind of annoying.

  • DAMN he is old!!!!!!!! I always watch videos of the 80`s and in my head, when I listen to his new music, I think of him as a young man.....

He is one of my heros! great guitar player

  • He's been recording since the seventies, always ahead of his time.

  • does anybody else who has this amp get a horrible tremolo noise and a ridiculous amount of cutaway, particularly on the higher frets? the harmonics don't sound too hot either and was wondering if it was just mine

  • I know what you mean the bar I jam at has a line 6 amp and it always souds like shit

  • It repeats itself when under stress

  • nice

  • ya he's playng a spider. but did you check out the EVENTIDE HARMONIZER in his rack......lol.... try that one Line6

  • he looks alot like Chevy Chase at 1:20

  • Go Adrian!!

I wish he was my dad!! How cool would that be??!!

  • not too bad for a 60 year old :D

  • GENIUS - YES!!

But... he really could try harder at cultivating his inner-geek. This was an excellent opportunity to go plaid socks with sandles: and just let it slide.

    Too bad

  • crazy

  • This man is GENIUS

  • This is the thing that always struck me with this guitar player the looping and the wacky but sensitive use of effects. With looping he creates a musical tapestry. And could walk away and the electronics would continue to create.I am shure at some point he has put together a harmony left it running went for lunch and came back and just addded more detail.

  • Yeah, I think that people who think this is horrible have missed the point of what he is doing.

  • Tritonal diminished playing, lol!

  • wow. that the awesome!

  • I wish Parker made a 22 fret that wasn't bolt on.

  • Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz i dis like the PArKeR Fly also :P

  • wooow. that sounded horrendous.

  • i don't think you understand what he's trying to do.

  • quite.

the amp is good, he played nastily.

  • @wachmekillu

I can't see what he is doing wrong.

The amplifier tonally is very bad.

He played within a perfect rhythm, accentuating the dotted 8ths and the 16th notes, using a rather atonal and free flowing harmony line yet still staying entirely musical, this man has made success of doing what very very very few can do merely through improvised expression.

Let's take this same man, give him a lack of limitations and 5 minutes and you would be pissing yourself.

  • dude, the amp is fine and im all for experimental stuff, but i dont like the way he played. thats it. hes a good guitarist and all but im not feeling it man.

  • How can you not like this guy??? Adrian, you ROCK!! That was great... I want one.

  • Adrian is capable of taking any outboard piece of gear and extacting it's full creative potential. He is one of the most gifted guitarists of our time.

  • He is the kind of guy who can make any pedal sounds great ;-)

  • For sure.

Yes, it's a demo, but I am never tired of listening to this. It's not dissonant, though kinda atonal... very strange.

  • is he from king crimson?

  • yep

and he palyed with zappa and the adrian belew trio

  • And David Bowie, Laurie Anderson, Talking Heads, The Bears, King Crimson......

  • Adrian the madness belew!!!

  • Any guitarist who doesn't LOVE what that guy can do with that guitar and amp? SHOULD NOT consider themselves a guitarist in any respect. Guitar is about MUSIC, just as any instrument. MUSIC is all that Adrian did there and MORE. So if you're closed minded, do us all a favor. Be an accountant or something else. You'll never be any good in the music creation realms. But good luck in something else! MJK

  • Poor children... This is HEAVEN!!!

  • belew is playing here tonight...the RiverBend Festival in Chattanooga...

  • Love the sound of the guitar but damn...its ugly as hell.(collor and shape)

  • I dont like what he is playing.

  • i won't lie when he started playing i was kinda thinkin "ok this sounds a bit like shit..." but once he gets going... it is absolutely amazing.

  • i don't know much about adrian belew, but i loved the work that he did with trent reznor on downward spiral and the fragile albums.a great musician!!!

  • Listen to King Crimson for me the stuff he does is just brilliant.

Search on youtube for a song called "Red"

  • Red is pre-Belew

  • True- but one of the few older songs still played, and Belew is great on it

  • what he's playing is horrible

  • Anyone who doubts Adrian Belew's ability need only listen to Young Lions. I've NEVER been as moved by guitar in my life as I still am by that song. "Now you will all be mine, be my young lions" Adrian Belew channeling Jesus Christ, 1990, "Young Lions." Wild waving shouting Picasso faces...a brave prey lies dying, and is surrounded by angry spirits...

    Love,

    Muzicul

  • Ernie Douglass is making some way-out sounds with that Parker geetar!

  • This amp in general yes, but what hes playing is just horrible.

  • Fuck this video it sucks, that is not music it is horrible sound, this comment wont get posted but this is just to say that this is the worst sound ever.

  • This guy is experimental its a new type of music

and its not really described with a name its just experimental and if you dont like it other people

do and you just dont really have to slander it keep

    it to yourself

  • Sounds like prog rock to me. Nothing new here. \m/_

  • If you don't like it, don't listen... I can assure you, this guy really know what he is doing and is a great artist. It's still okay, if you don't like him, but please, don't post crappy comments, they make you look like an idiot.

  • is that his signature model?

  • Shit, That's just what it is...

    Who's that crap ?

  • I love it. in every video he gives this crazy fucking "look what I can do" look. Rock on Adrian

  • Sounds like 2 guitars!

  • he's got too much going on

  • And he's always smiling ... Fuking Adrian ! I love musicians who smile.

  • if there's anybody i would respect of total tone knowlege it's adrian belew

  • yeah yeah sounds nice, now do it with a guitar that sounds half as good as that one plz.

  • Brilliant. Love Adrian.

  • holy crap.. that was awesome.

  • was für eine scheisse! der typ kann doch überhaupt nicht spielen! -.-

  • Fu...ing Awnsome! Belew Rocks..one of the best guitarrists ever existed

  • Really neat, but nowhere near the tone of the Roland Jazz Chorus.

  • Belew wields the guitar like knitting needles in the hands of a granny who, with great skill and love, loops thread into a masterpiece

  • hes such a weirdo I love it

  • Your speaking of his appearence, thats kinda shallow

  • I'm a great fan of Belew and this toy was just made for KC jamming. Great to see this in real time when back in the day it was all done by overdubs. BTW, I used to work for Session (Axess Electronics) and we could only dream of this technology back in the 80's. We were using Accutronics spring-line reverbs (still the best). Nice to hear those Celestions still in business! My Frame By Frame HiDef 1982 upload from BBC4 is cooking well if you like a bit of vintage (Port that is...)

  • "all done by overdubs"?! The Echoplex did this with tape in 1959, and other before that! Check out Fripp on League of Gentlemen - awesome sound on sound, live - and Jaco Pastorius' solo - "Slang" - all live sound on sound well before the digital age :) (Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Roy Clark...)

  • Johnson Amps are the best modeling amps ever made..........Millennium JM150 FTW

  • Awesome, all cimsonic, lovely.

  • This is what looping sounds like when put in the hands of a creative genius like Adrian Belew. I've listened to a bunch of looping videos, some great ones, and this is one of the best.

  • i saw a video of him and crimson doing"elephant funk" and i have been hooked ever since....best performance i have ever seen

the only guitar player that i can set apart from the rest of the flock...an amazing achievement in itself

  • sure it wasnt elephant talk?

  • hes getting a mad scientist hairdo like devin townsend!!

  • lmao!!! the song sounds like mad scientist music.

  • Frippertronics xD

  • Belew, YES!!!!! he's such a nice gentleman!

  • he looks so creepy now lol

  • I definitely hear Fripp wearing off on Belew. If only King Crimson could make at least one more album.

  • It's good hearing the 'classic' Crim being released by DGM but it WOULD BE AWESOME to hear new tunes, indeed!

  • Happy Birthday to WishKid12.

  • wow...is that belew?? I can't believe it!! he changed brutally

  • We all are getting older, Hector.

  • Physically obviously, but musically he's even more incredible.

  • Thanx for the vid.

Adrian has what is missing to many so-called guitar heroes : a soul.

  • awesome...you can see he is having so much fun, thats what its all about.

  • The cosmic gods have blessed Adrian Belew!!

It's great to see that he still has so much fun playing and creating music...that's what it's all about right?

  • It messes with your head to puzzle out just how much Fripp sank into Belew, or Belew into Fripp. It's nothing to do with personality, or the trappings of playing style--they are really "brothers from another mother"...

  • that's what paul stanley and gene simmons would look like without their wigs!

  • He does Fripp better than Fripp his self!

  • Can you say "Frippertronics?" ;->

  • Belewtronics * - *

  • that is brilliantly wierd, it comes together more and more and begins to work in its owne strange way as he layers it up more and more.

    what a god!

  • wicked

  • the best ever! belew 4 ever

  • I am a big Adrian Belew fan. What a treat to be able to see this video.

  • Definitely experimental...
