AGAIN, NOT. AN. INSULT. Can you really claim that those bow&arrow stances are ok? Or worse, claim that the rider stances are ok? Don't make assumptions about others not knowing what YOU do. Think a little
@goldenfox208 I'm just a student. And if you don't recognize a rather big flaw in your basic training, it's your problem. Anyway, good luck and be more open-minded next time. My comment was meant to be constructive, not inflammatory.
@FrozenHea there no problem here all it seems that you guys do is insult other style maybe you should learn something from it ,every style to its own you know not what we do so how could you say such things?
these guys are pretty hard core for a traditional kung fu school. ive never seen such hard training. its usually ppl slacking off, but these guys train hard
Some of the most dedicated kung fu practitioners are from the Hung Gar , Choy Li Fut and Praying Mantis. These arts needs dedication or you will fail from the beginning.
I know , i see some are so lifeless when they practice and do their forms. But if you can inject life and power into your concentrated movements , it would be surreal.
Great video, love you Brits. It was good to see another style of kung fu use the mok jong (wooden dummy) so well (even though alot of those blocks look like wing chun/ving tsun, but I guess it would since it is on the mok jung). Great video and great performance.
Stance training is something that is so neglected and little understood in most arts outside of the Gung-fu family of arts. Some know to use it for strengthening, balance and posture, but how many truly know how to use it for fighting, during fighting along with the stepping..very few. Stepping is one of the last things you master in Gung-fu as you could master internal energy before you get your stepping down, but once you do, your virtually untouchable.
Great ging training. The side of kung fu often neglected by practitioners looking to only look pretty while doing only forms. Enjoyed watching this vid. Thanks for posting.
very good and stable stance. I am new to kungfu, but have done some taichi... definitely see solid root. Any tips for improving reflexes and kicking power?
My favorite method for developing power for a given technique is as follows: Do it a few times very slowly, and carefully analyze how the body's various parts interact during the technique. Try to "feel" the way the kinetic energy is produced and what body parts are responsible. Then do about a dozen repititions of the technique, slowly building up speed until you're doing it at combat velocity, all the while thinking about your body and paying attention to how it feels.
i love the way we as martists push ourselves, cant wait to start hung gar looks like a beutifull style. 1 question are there differences in forms/applications from differing hung styles or are they ALL from same lineage with same form/app? oh and where does ur lineage go back to?
Hello, interesting vid, just a quick question. What are those hanging things covered in rope at around 0.52 called?

I believe they are saying that the 'tail-bone' should be tilted forward in the Ma Bu - but nice to see the trad training adhered too.
I have only experienced a small amount of Hung Kuen/Gar but know the base/ stance is sooooo important.
Couldn't walk properly for two days after completing a Course with a Chinese Master of this system - Real WuShu Kung Fu LOL...Respect.
Have a number of friends from this system and have fought some others Full Contact...a great style.
