"Reckless vandalism", bullshit. That wall was still in East Germany. Spraypainting it on the West German side was not an act of vandalism as you were painting on officially East German turf. The west hated the wall, the more it was painted & vandalized the more they were happy, they wanted to see it demolished.
2 weeks in prison I don't think so, more like an applause from the West Berlin police.
The amazing thing about the wall is that there isn't one person in 50 that knows why the wall was built. Why was it important to keep the people from going to west germany from east germany?
oh, so Paul has always been that annoying. I suppose if those kids didn't write something so commerical they never would have gotten on Letterman. Too bad.
This was a "tradition" begun in the first exchange group from Mountain Home (Arkansas) High School two years prior to this. I was in the first group, which painted "Beat Harrison" since that is the school's rival team. The second year's group painted "Go Hogs" since we are from Arkansas. The third year is seen here. Somewhere about year 6, "Live from Berlin It's Saturday Night" was painted.
My German teacher's last name is Reade. Weird.

I remember the "Beat Harrison" year. It was in our school annual. We were all very proud.
