I, for one, don't think Raine's voice ever "left." Just because he didn't do this style of vocal much on the last two records doesn't mean he lost anything, and I can't think of a single instance of him sounding less than great.
Incredible all around but damn, props to Raine. Didn't know he could still pull that off. Always appreciated him in the Naveed to Spiratual era specifically because his voice, like Billy Corgan, was so unique. Nice revision of the song at the end too.
holay fack absolutley amazing, i have always wanted to hear him sing this live.. and i will in 14 days!!! Wish he sang the full eneding of the song tho, i just love his voice.... thanks for sharing this!
@kennygmang I dunno, I think Gravity is underrated as an album. It has a lot of really good songs on there. HIPT was kinda a crash and burn though, with the exception of a few songs
yes, Gravity has alot of good songs, but yet it's their least inspiring work, by miles....with, you know, it being stripped-down mainstream (even if it's alot of variety)
HIPT, on the other hand, is OLP's most sonically mature album of that time, though some songs could've been made better still. It's their most "politically" charged album, and has a new school sound with an old-school kinda vibe to it.
Awesome live version of Car Crash. I'm very happy that OLP is doing this clumsy/spiritual machines Canada tour, and even more pleased to hear that Raine is still willing to hit the high notes of the older songs.
An outstanding Band

I actually like the new ending more than the album version. The roaring fuzzy guitar lends itself to a nicely menacing and mesmerising effect.

That long falsetto note... Amazing.
GrungeHead92 1 year ago 2
Indeed. The entire audience exploded in applause at that part, as you can hear.
Maida was really flawless the entire night, especially on Monkey Brains and Are You Sad?. I was very impressed.
Droorogers 1 year ago 4
i will find both if i can if that's true :P
Monkey Brains is one of their greatest songs ever, and I'd be pleased if he does that edgy vocal style this time
and Are You Sad? SM is the very last album i picked up from them...it's a pretty good song from my first impressions of it, so i'll check that too :D

This is a late-ass reply, but yes.

@sufinomono Exactly my thoughts, if he can nail Car Crash he can do Annie, Blister, and Stealing Babies with ease.
