  • Ἔξοχη.

  • puse en mi web de ella CHIBO QUE ROMPE TAMBO en un Parlophone afrocubano

  • Imperio was born in Buenos Aires. Her father was a flamenco guitar player from Gibraltar, and her mother was a Spaniard from Málaga.

  • Thank you for sharing something so beautiful. I love the crackels of the record.

  • Stunning! And a Happy New Year to you.

  • Thanks for this! I had the version by Celia Gámez, recorded in 1932, but this one is also very good! Imperio Argentina recorded 'Guitarra mía' in 1932 for Spanish Parlophon, B 26.079, with 'Recuerdos chilenos' on the other side.

  • Her passionate singing is thrilling, and the guitar theme illustrations are pretty. Felíz año nuevo everybody!

  • Dear D., I hope you got my special wishes to you by email. But once more, here: A HAAAAPY NEW YEAR!!!

  • Hi Grzegorz - Imperio Argentina looked and sang like a special Spirit of Tango - even though her Tango dancing abilities are not as widely publicized. At any rate - mucho gracias - her voice and delivery - are both - super!!!

  • Thanks Lana! She is one of the masters of singing of the XXth century in Europe. My Father loved her voice, I think yours did too. All European guys the 1930s were mad about her. Her records sold like wine.

  • Superb!

  • Thank you! And - Happy New Year!

  • Grzegorz,

    MARAVILLOSO!

Rudy and I loved this TANGO....

Imperio and the Guitar were Sensational!

We drank Absinthe from Rudy's private stash! :-)

    Gracias

  • Genia, on the New Year's Party be careful with Absinthe! They all drank absinthe in France in turn of centuries XIX/XX and look, how it ended! Verlaine almost shoot Rimbaud (or Rimbaud-Verlaine), van Gogh cut his ear off... So, please, on that Craziest Night in the year - champaigne, please, only the best champaigne!

  • Open sesame! And well worth it: haunting guitarra, sensuous pix, and how she rolls those Spanish "r's."

  • Hi B., she is wonderful, I agree. But - do you remember? we often listened to her in B., on our Wine Nights, eh?

  • Can't open this one, though the YT honchos say please try again later.

  • B., I just opened it without problem. Maybe "the line was busy", or so?
