  • @tryta999 that's exactly the song of the engine..... =;)))

  • damn nice green field to fly from.

  • My extra is designed originally for 10cc to 15cc with a 12 x8 or 13x6 it flies with a 15x8 if you are not gentle the engine couple is so strong that the plane rotate see the second take off in my video library...

  • Thanks for the information! I appreciate it. I'll probably switch over to electric as it seems much quieter, more efficient power wise, and you dont have to clean up your plane from the grease (or your car for that matter!).

  • I love it too !!

    to answer your questions :

For the extra I have with a 15x8 propeller and 8S1P Lipo about 1800W for a plane weighting 4Kg ready to take off !

450W / kg I am taking off with half gaz in the movie after 5 meters and a 45° climbing inclination....

autonomie 10 minutes + 3 minutes to land in case I have to wait...

I think 250W /kg would be more than enough and would prevent to put some lood on the tail as I was obliged to do.

  • Very nice plane, I love the Extra 300s and the Cap 232...my very favorite to fly. I'm jealous of your monstrously large field you get to fly in! I love the sound of a 4 stroke engine and the realism it adds. Recently I've been thinking about switching to electric. Any issues with electric? How about power to weight ratio? Doesnt look like you had much trouble with power but what do you think? Should you buy a bigger motor than recommended or what? More battery power maybe?

  • For the battery I am switching now from Lipo to A123 . Longer lifecycle even if they are heavier.

I am using 10S2P A123 it cost 200gr and I have even more power... than with the Lipo I can reload in 30 minutes instead of 1h30 and do not have to wait after a flight to reload the battery !

Remember that Electro engine are running bigger props with more efficiency it's very surprising !
