I was watching a bit of the 1998 Monaco GP a few days ago. After Häkkinen won, he started doing burnouts and stopping in front of the grandstands waving to the crowd. I wonder what the penalty for that would be today...
god almightly what was that thing at the very end! looked like some sort of grotesque clone of michael schumacher that had gone wrong.....oh my mistake it was ralf
@1fatdan Yep, Canadian GP, I remember it well as it was my buddy's first trip to Montreal for the race. Just got my tickets for next year's race, will be my 10th. The entire week-end is considered the "Grand Prix", not just the race.

Oh right so my comment which I posted one month ago is just me copying a quote by Eddie Irvine yesterday is it? I'm not sure if you have noticed this, but one month ago came before yesterday!
Ok then, I can tell you are being sarcastic. Look at my comment that you are complaining about again. Look next to my username above the comment on the right. It says (1 month ago). Thats when I posted the comment. So if Eddie Irvine said that onl yesterday, then how could I have copied his opinion. I'm guessing you didn't mean yesterday and meant a much longer time ago, but even so I didn't copy anybody's opinion.
Ok then. Soz, jus thought I'd point it out because I had no idea what you were on about, Lol. But nah, thats always been my opinion from the day F1 drivers became boring corparate jackassesm! xD
Let's see, if this happened today, Eddie and Mika would get 50,000 Euro fines for exceeding the juice throwing speed limit and Michael would lose 3 spots on the grid for the next race for blocking Eddie's line of sight to Mika's face.
true im so pissed with all the penalties nowadays like last weekend at the nurburgring, to webber.. its just an incident, its racing, its bound to happen!
don't forget, they are only allowed to refill their glasses every 4 races, so he'd also lose some spots on the grid, if he wanted to drink something during the next race then.
@KingsPowerSteel True, but the amount of juice they're allowed to throw is restricted to 1,6 liters over 3 years. And, to maximize competition, there are only 4 juice-brands to choose from.
@Ferrariman601 "After the recent incidents with Hamilton the stewards were so appalled they decided to give Schumacher a 10 place grid penalty out of sheer force of habbit"
Ffaccio fatica a trattenere le lacrime, guardando questo video, mi fa davvero venire una nostalgia incredibile, pensando a come si è ridotta la F1 in 8-9 anni. :'(
The F1 circus altogether was much more enjoyable to watch back in those days. Myself being a Finn, so I especially enjoyed the late 90's and early 2000 when Hakkinen and Schumacher were really racing against each other.
hahaha i love mikka hakkinen he is ledgendary :D !!! nothing like that ever happens these days :( where was this conferance, what track and what year??
I played F1 97 earlier today, and after seeing this, it brings a tear to my eye that these guys aren't getting together now and racing for the fun of it!
Mikka was then and is a nice person, very intelligent too. There is a video of him been ask to drive at maranello and Mikka just laugh a'away!.Now that says a lot!.
In F1 there is too much disagreements nowadays and drivers dont like each other that much. And too much playing games with the media. 10 years ago second and third, not just winner were able to be happy. I really miss Michael and Mika.
actually, the drivers still do that, Alonso was throwing somethin at Kubica during one of the press conferences in Valencia, cant find it on youtube tho :<
guess the increased media presence and all the money being spent puts so much added pressure on the teams and drivers they have forgotten how to just relax
that was really funny...but today drivers more behave like buisness men at the wall street...bad because such scenes let drivers more look like "normal" people like we are...

@Ferrariman601 yes he would get dangerous driving penalties and then be fined for wasteful use of the tyres and fuel. fucking stupid :(

@FUCK202 Absolutely. I was actually surprised that Kimi wasn't penalized after doing that burnout when he won at Spa in 2007.
