  • a little dance before his eats

  • Press "7" over and over again to see non stop OM NOM NOM NOM

  • The dewlap is common to Anolis species. It can vary in color but is usually a combination of reds, yellows, orange.

They display it as a means of communication. When you see the head bob & dewlap display - look for another male anole nearby- these guys are very territorial.

You'll also see this behavior after the successful capture and swallowing of a meal.

At the Anole Symposium in Boston last year biologists indicated there is still much unknown about why this display mechanism is used.

  • do all brown and green anoles have that red thing comming out of their throats?

  • what tybe of anole is it?

  • This is the common brown Anole; latin name Anolis sagrei.

  • do all anoles have that red thing on their neck? and can you keep like 6 of them in a 10 gallon tank? or whats the max you should keep in a ten gallon? and dont say one because i know its not one.

  • 2 in a ten gallon

  • Still a bad idea though. They have territories of up to 40 or so feet in the wild

  • You should only keep one keeping more would stress them out. u could probably try 2 but i wouldnt. They need space to roam. :)

  • mine would kill that 1 in notime!!

  • i want the dvd

  • i just bought a new anole and it cost 15 dollars including cage lizard and sand

  • bc2526 please tell me that youre not using sand as a substrate for your anole

  • DON"T USE SAND. Use bark or potting soil.

  • hhow do u catch him?

  • This guy was not caught. He was filmed in the pool area of a home in Florida. If you must catch one, do it carefully by hand. If you grab a tail....you'll be left with a tail in your fingers as the anole runs away. Not Good!

  • ooo...i tough he was urs

  • do a video of anole vivarium setups

  • You'll pleased to know that will be part of the DVD. We'll be showing how to have a filtered aqaurium in the base and room for the anoles above - using an Exo-Terra store bougt unit. 18wX18lX24h.
