The Tears have their hits, but you'd be hard pressed to find any bad songs on all of their albums. No fillers like most bands. Amazingly consistently well-written music.
I love the look on Rolands face from 1.50 to 1.55 ,hearing his creation coming o life, sounding so great...this is a SUPERB INTRO to a song..all the different instruments coming in ,to create a truly wonderful soundscape...no wonder he is smiling...
THIS IS MUSIC...
this tune takes me places..the whole album is simply wonderful..
And extremely relevant to todays world and problems.
The musicianship of this group Tears For Fears "Year Of The Knife" Live! is great favorite in many inquiries to attract many fans, embrace a great video. Sou Brasileiro live in northern Brazil and really enjoy this group.
I couldn't reach you today so I guess it will be a happy birthday wish over a very special video. Our Rolie belting his marvelous voice and ripping up his amazing guitar.
I wish you all the best. Hope to talk to you soon. xoxoxo
I am laughing at myself. I am watching the video with no sound. I can't make any noise at work right now so just the image will have to do. I can almost hear Roland's voice though.
I so wanted to be there. It is very impressing to know they were stranged and yet managed to throw an amazing concert with a great vibe (at least for the duration of the show).
I am baaaaaaaaaack, baby. It feels so weird that it is over. It was such a magical moment. But to be perfect, you had to be there next to me, Kim, and Suzanne. We had such a good time, screaming to the top of our lungs. I danced too much, which messed up my picture taking and footage. Oh, I think I told Kim got a "I love YOU" back from Roland when she shouted it to him. I melted for her.
Thanks sweetie!!! I am happy you had a wonderful time and you even took time to call me during the show. You look great in your picture with Roland too ~
Exciting song, one of my favorite TFF. Those singers are annoying though. The camera bounces around too much. It's too bad that Neil Taylor didn't open up with a guitar solo like Robbie Mcintosh did on the record.
There's nothing better than this on full blast, duster in your hand, singing , dancing. And at the end my kids sit there, mouths open, thinking their mum's gone completely bonkers!!!!!!! lol good old TFF. What a song!!
Every musician on that stage is awesome (otherwise they'd not be playing with Orzabal and Smith) but on this song the background vocal ladies downright steal the show. I LOVE seeing people so in the moment, LIVING what they do. Awesome!
Got up this morning feeling funky and guess what? All it took was to watch this little video. See Roland maneuver his guitar, and sing with his heart and soul was all I needed.
Hey I am a 52 yo straight male. These guys are just in there own ( i don't know what ) I am practicing the guitar for several of there songs as we speak. Love this stuff.
Roland Orzabal is a gifted composer and with a beautiful voice. In the beginning everyone thought they were gay but they are both hetrosexual. I hope you don't feel like you are percieved gay because you like them. You've stumbled onto some pages where they are very loved by most posters anyway! I'm glad to hear you do too! and good luck with that guitar..........
No I was just saying I am a 52 yo male TFF Fan . They have inspired me with their music. They have some special songs.the world is better for their contribution.
You are as shamelessly hooked on Roland as I am! I too have to listen and look at him on a daily basis. You can imagine how rich my fantasy life is! hes particularly attractive in this video.
What makes you think I am completely besotted with this super sizzling hot and sssuper talented man of my dreams? Because I am NOT, hear me? Nose growing :D
This is my very favorite part of the concert. Roland is simply spetacular. Memorable. It should go down history as one of the finest live performances of all times.
This great concert footage.Anytime Roland's voice can be showcased is Excellent.I love his looks at this time, wild hair and great lips! And after all this time hes still HOT!
It's not hard to imagine why this is one of my favorite albums ever. Just look at the musicians who were on it. Roland, Curt and Oleta Adams of course. Phil Collins, Manu Katche (one of the greatest session drummers ever), Pino Palladino (gets my vote for greatest session bassist ever) and Robbie McIntosh (former lead guitarist for Paul McCartney).
This is one of the most cathartic songs ever composed by TFF. It is about two conflicting personalities existing within an individual. I prefer the mood and energy of this song as opposed to 'Shout' (which I like by the way but it's slightly overrated).
His range is so incredible, his voice so pure. In another life Roland must have been a magician because he can pull anything out of his hat. And to top it off, he looks sooooo good.
I can't tell....."Is it Live or is it Memorex"? It's LIVE! and it's got to be one of the best live performances of any song I've ever heard! True to the original recording in every note....I've always loved this song and want to thank you for posting this video...I hope TFF doesn't pull it. I'd like a copy on my harddrive!
musical perfection, that whole concert was the dogs bollocks,do yourself a favour and buy the DVD, 'Going to California', it's still available.

The best 2 live performances i've ever saw in the 80's were by this guys in Holland !
It was there last live farewell concert of ' the old ' Tears for Fears back then,
they had decided to quit .
Was not so bad to be in front of Roland either ... !
