Odd question but I do believe it is possible but I dont think it is common, butterflys can tell the difference between themselves, why do you think you see monarchs with other monarchs instead of a bunch of blue butterflys?
In Thailand I saw one huge butterflie and one smaller (the smaller one was a totally different color) and they were chasing eachother. When the small one landed the big one sat ontop of it and then they chased each other once again.
Maybe they were playing I don't know but can 2 different butterflies mate?

Yeah we do have monarchs and some yellowish ones. Instead of that it's not very colorful.
