I agree. Unless the group votes to not follow RO, if the normal order of business is to follow it, then RO must be followed.

Voting to overrule Robert's Rules of Order while possible, is not practical unless another set of rules is adopted.
Without RO, how many votes is required to be authoritative?
What are the rights of the minority?
How do you assure that everyone has a say in a meeting?
Who has authority to act on behalf of the group?
