I am Engg , and i believe that mr problem is the best friend of mr solution ............i have a brother who lost his eyes sight gradually due to retina damage ....... is there is any solution to it ?
@rachnacast Dr Engg, this video depicts the repair of epithelial cells (the outside cells). Science is investigating using a patient's own stem cells to repair itself, along with identification and separation of DNA faulty chromosomes, they're hoping to re-introduce new DNA chromosomes to replace the faulty ones. These are the ones that make your family unique to any hereditary diseases. Retina damage can happen many ways: welding, head bump etc Dr's can reattach it in some cases.
@rachnacast - see below first. The human body is still a mystery to the doctors, sadly blindness due to Macular Degeneration is not helped either. Best to eat well and use products which promote stem cell growth and activity, instead of all our stem cells just residing in our bone marrow. They should circulate in the blood to repair things!
@SOUTHSIDER1985 Unfortunately (or fortunately) with today's science it doesn't work like that. Just like fighting bacterial infections using your immune system, you would fight and kill the cells from another organism that are not "supposed to be" yours. That is the reason why they probably take the patient's own cells and multiply/modify them in the lab, or they look for "matching tissues" from other humans or relatives, just like an organ transplant.

imagine if you could remove all the cells from a cats eye them transplant it to a human, youd have cats eyes, haha that would be sikk... :D
