To people who complain about how the demo doesn't have the destruction capabilities that these videos show off - that is because it is the demo

1: it isn't the finalized version

2: why would they give the public one of they're biggest breakthroughs in gaming for free???

3: quit whinning - I'm surprised they put the realistic sound effects into the demo, unless they got more to show

They said in the final version of the game, every house can be brought down, and you can shoot through peices of cover. So you're probably correct, it's just because it's a free demo, that they're still working on the destruction.

Well, in 2.0 you can take down buildings or shoot tiny holes in walls almost like in Red Faction Guerilla. Go to their homepage and search video interviews and you should find some guy explane about the game. :P

@jakejanne lol GEOMOD2 was a fail.. volition could have done alot better... geomod from Red Faction original was more advanced than Geomod2 just the graphics were less... nobody pays attention to games

Danrakichh, that's not right. I haven't played the original red faction but I can sure tell they did better than great work with the GEOMOD2 engine. RFG was some helluva fun when destroying buildings with yer sledgehammer but why argue whether it was good or not? It's still a great destruction engine among BC2's. Only 2 great engines exist so far.

I've played RF1 and RFG and RFG's engine is much more impressive. RFG's engine just doesn't make sense sometimes.

yuh but u gotta admit.. if they were to incorporate the way RF1 engine worked into RFG it would have made the game a LOT more interesting... since u could dig tunnels etc... and damage landscape... imagine in RFG if u could blow a chunk of cliff away... then the rest starts to crumble and makes a rockslide or something

Yeah I agree, that would be really sick. I just don't know if we have that technology yet. Well, we probably could with computers, but I don't think consoles have enough memory and such to handle all of the physics that would go on with that.

Im dissapointed at the destruction 2.0, i though you could destroy so much more. Like the innerwalls in buildings etc. But you cant they say that you can take down full buildings. Yea if i hit it right and if its the right buidling that can be taken down. Thats bad.

yea i hope that in my dreams, but as far as i know they have been working on the destruction 2.0 for a long time and this is what they came up with. I dont think they will improve the destruction 2.0 engine just because this is a beta. This is to show up the 2.0 engine.

you can take down building but its takes time with just a gun but a tank it will take 10 hits just to take down a building.

You sure? I have the beta and couldn't take down a building with C4. The only buildings that collapsed when I was playing were ones that had the bomb inside. But when they collapsed it was not true physics but it was scripted (they fell the same way each game)

I approuv in a way, but that's because the quality of the vidz is not that good, u should have a look on the BFBC2 forum, there's some awesome vidz. Plus i'm a PC user as many of us i guess, and so i indeed never played BFBC1 ^^ and so i'm twice more exited to try this god damn good game (i used to play BF1942 looonnng time ago ^^)...

BTW, thx for the video, that's exactly what i wanted to try in gameplay, but with a tanh or apach :p lol

dude it does look like it but its not 1: since when does the infantry class allow med kits? never in the first one 2:the makers did keep the same weapons but repolished them with a new look 3:there are new guns but the reason they kept some of the old guns is because of the new customization system...
