  • wynton speaks like he plays: naturally at ease, intelligent, emotionally deep, street wise. i love listening to him, makes me proud to be an american musician.

  • Finally, someone has said what ive been thinking.............LISTEN to him!

  • I´m really a big fan of all the Marsalis´ playing and music, but I think his comparision of music with math at 6:10 is quite lame, even though it´s not meant seriously. Imagine a top mathematician talking about science and saying similary that "math is supermusic, we already know how to play the scales in music.."

  • Not sure what you mean here, but I like his statement about music and math. I think math is how we learn to read and play on a basic level, but artistry goes beyond math. Expression goes beyond math. I'm not sure what you mean here....

  • @wizze84 I hate to reply to a 9 month old post but as a math professor admonished me "music is absolutely math". Cycles, frequencies (concert A is 440hz exactly half of 880hz which is A at the next octave up, frequency overtones). music is simply vibrations organized with sound.

  • you can apply this to all fields in lífe in every country on this planet. Good job. People like this will never be president.

  • Wynton For President! :)

  • Thanks Wynton!

The Arts tune us into dimensions that are of equal importance to our education as the Sciences.

  • very powerful, and inspiring.....
