Congress has authorized a $1.6 billion dollar cut in child support collection effort subsidies to the states, which they are now considering repealing that. Ignorance is no excuse for stupid replies like saying that no mother would ever use spite when it comes to child custody. Allowing children to see their other parent only six days a month which is the standard visitation schedule is child abuse.
Equal Parenting provides children with options that custody laws negate. 2 Parents -- that's what children need. Take the money out of the picture and provide parents instead.

As long as the parents who want equal time with their children are not abusive to those children or to the other parent this is a wonderful theory. Sadly too many abusive fathers try to remove a perfectly good mother from the picture due to anger over child support obligations. Yet they are first in line to reap child support payments from that same mother. SAD!!!!!!
This is about EQUAL parenting as it is factually in the BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILDREN. I have spoken with thousands of Fathers, Mothers and GrandParents, never have I heard any of them cry over CS. Yet I have seen a million tears shed over the loss of their children. PLEASE start thinking about our children and stop thinking about the dollars.
The facts are that fathers are awarded custody in roughly 5% of the cases and the supermajority of those awards are due to mothers who are unwilling to allow any visitation to the father. These mothers use unfounded domestic violence claims that force the court to award fathers custody. Know your facts. Equal Parenting laws would help these women in court since they'll know that they can not claim DV unless their is clear and convincing evidence.
