  • can i just ask there is a white jelly blob present throught out the whole clip, there is one of these in my tank, what is it.?

  • @HAZ428 That's actually a white pebble from the substrate that's under the eco-complete. In my experience it sounds like mold or fungus, something that will usually go away on it's own if fully submerged.

  • @tuvix72 ah i think its some old loach food with mold on it, thx for your help.

  • That's fun to watch. I'm a horticulturist by trade. Id really like to get more into aquascaping on the side.

  • isn't this glossostigma elatinoides?

  • Cool, genial video!

  • New HD version!! Check notes area for link...

  • Hey thanx for the response and yah I went to APC and posted. I asked for help at TPT a while back to no avail. The APC post is titled " HC HELP...Hi tuvix72!"

  • Maybe you misuderstand. The fixture has two 18 watt bulbs and i use two fixtures on the 30 gallon tank. Sorry if i didn't explain properly. Still think it's the light intesnsity?

  • @jdub7771 so 4x18W... that's 2.4WPG... not a "LOT" of light, but certainly enough to grow HC. Certainly intensity effects growth pattern and I've seen non carpeting stem plants grow horizontal under enough light, but hopefully you are able to "train" yours to grow more horizontal by constantly trimming the vertical stems. In reality I just don't know enough about your setup to get a good idea, you should come over to APC and start a thread about this and we can get into more detail if you like.

  • That's cool! Why does my HC always grow straight up? My drop checker is yellowish-green, I dose ferts(E.I.) light is 2 t5 (n.o.) 18 watts each over a 30 gallon tank. Suggestions? Everything else grows beautifully.

  • @jdub7771 Sounds like light intensity may be your problem... but keep cutting back the vertical stems, that alone can go a long way.

  • @jdub7771 Usually, plants start to reach for light if it is a bit low wattage....

Stronger lights, make plants stay lower....

  • @ikelleners Thanks for the reply. Right after this video I added another fixture to that tank and the HC turned into a carpet monster, overtaking the whole foreground! It's been great ever since.

  • @zerocool212121 You can take a look at the link in the information section, you should be able to recognize the plant if you know what to look for. Not sure what is so "sad" about incorrectly identifying a plant... it happens all the time to the best of us... but you are wrong on this one my friend... You're probably just not used to seeing it this close up. Best Regards.

  • lol, its glosso for sure

  • @d2jsp911 Kids... always open their mouths before they think ;-) JK... Take a closer look, glosso has a lot longer leaf stem and is quite a lot bigger. You're looking at about a 3:1 macro ratio, those are eco-complete pebbles just to give you some perspective.

  • How do you grow Hemianthus callitrichoides under water so well? I having problem of growing it, it turn to darker green and slowlier weaker and smaller then dissapear T.Teven i use co2 and also fertilization. Inorder to save species i plant it submerged, and it grow well submerged. somebody help me !please

  • @remousez I have the same problem and it sux. :(

  • sure dont look like hc. looks like glosso

  • Those are "eco-complete" pebbles just to give you a better perspective...

  • @zerocool212121 Glosso has a different leaf shape, that looks like the real deal to me!

  • time lapse videos are so neat. 5*

  • pretty cool.

  • HC is king of plants.

  • OMG Look how fast those snails are going!

    LOL

    That is awesome.

  • Freaky moving gravel

  • really cool, keep on recording more time lapses, please

  • Thats soo cool, i never realised quite HOW fast they grow!!

    Cool Vid !

  • can you say a bit more about your tank setup? i cant believe you can get away with 7.2WPG

  • lol that snail is funny

  • Used an older Canon A75 with reversed 50mm lens for closeups. Shutter controlled with the Canon remote capture software.

  • @tuvix72 i thought it could only record 180 secs at a time

  • @poisenmushrooms4u What do you mean?

  • the camera i looked it up and it said it could only record 180 seconds at a time not 6 days

  • Used Canon Remote Capture software to control the camera. Took a regular photo every hour for 6 days then converted to a video using Animation Shop. Actually took a photo every minute but it was too many, only used every 60th photo...

  • nice, cool Time lapse.. what camara did u use?

  • Haha, how cool!!!!

  • That is soo cool and the video is clear you must have a good video camara

  • nice video ;)

didn't know "cuba" grew so fast

  • Thanks. It's 6 days of growth @ 7.2WPG using Flourish Excel.
