I find the light tanks go down with less than 1 clip from the shotgun, just let then run at you, then aim for the head. 6-8 shots later from the shotgun and they're down. Heavy tanks respond well with the lightning gun, but I prefer the nailgun. Specifically the scope of the nailgun is most usefull. And for the stream protectors anything really works. Rockets, hyperblaster, grenades, anything really goes for them. Also you missed some hidden armor, explore more. :)
